Of course, many of you prefer to carry out finishing repairs yourself, this is already a very pleasant and interesting process. Of particular interest are the various methods for applying texture finishes to various surfaces.
In this article, the author of DecoMasteR * Pervomaisk’s YouTube channel will tell you how to make a marine wall finish.
Such a technique is available for repetition even to inexperienced masters, and allows not only to hide the disadvantages of preliminary preparation of the walls, but also to turn them into advantages.
Materials
- Decorative putty with cellulose fibers
- Azure.

- Spatula, trowel
- wide brush
- Foam sponge.
Manufacturing process.
As the main material, the master uses such a decorative putty, in which cellulose fibers are added. As a matter of fact, a similar material can be obtained independently from an ordinary finishing putty.
Further, a layer of decorative putty with a thickness of 1.5 to 2.5 mm is applied to the prepared and primed surface. It is obviously done with strokes, and not applied with an ideally even layer.
Now putty can be allowed to dry slightly for 10 minutes. Then the texture is applied in the form of “vortices” using a fairly stiff brush dipped in water.
Wait 24 hours until the next step until the putty is completely dry.
But at this point, you should take into account further requirements for surface stability to humidity, and other conditions. In any case, it is desirable to treat it with a primer.
After drying the primer, you can apply azure or varnish.
Further, immediately after applying the azure, it is necessary to wipe the upper edges of the texture with a slightly moistened sponge.
Here is the still wet surface of such a sample.
After 6-12 hours, the coating will fade a little, and will not be so bright.
Of course, it is necessary to cover the finished surface with a matte or glossy acrylic varnish to provide more serious moisture protection.
I thank the author for the simple but very interesting technology for applying the finish coating on the walls!
All good mood, good luck, and interesting ideas!
