The site already has a description of a similar homemade in the form of a puppy, and this one, designed and made do it yourself author of Instructables under the nickname Well Done Tips, more like an adult dog.
All the details of the homemade product, except for the lamp housing, which is also the head of the dog, the master makes of a wooden rod of rectangular cross section 30x15 mm. The lengths and purpose of the parts are shown in the photo.
He cuts the parts that will go to the ears and legs of the dog at a slight angle, cleans with 320 grit sandpaper, makes recesses for washers, and drills:
Slices two pieces of a 6 mm hairpin and chamfers them. For obvious reason, this method of chamfering cannot be recommended.
Starts to build:
A 8 mm thick board is cut from a bar, if you already have plywood of a similar thickness, you can skip this step. Cuts four rectangles from it with dimensions of 110x160 mm. For ease of assembly, a rectangular parallelepiped cuts off their ends at an angle of 45 °.
Glues the luminaire body, for the time of glue hardening, fixes the parts with masking tape, since it is not possible to manage with only clamps here:
After the glue has hardened, it unclips the clamps, grinds, and adds details that play the role of ears. Here, studs are not required; bolts are also suitable, also 6 mm.
Drills several holes, one of which turns into a rectangular one, adds a switch, pastes a square from a frosted 4 mm plexiglass onto superglue:
Adds a cord, installs the lamp housing:
Makes the base for the LED strip, glues it. Then it connects so that the three-position switch can turn it on partially or fully. The tape is unusual, it is not designed for 12, but for 5 V, so the master checks it with the help of a power bank.
Glue the base with an LED strip into the body with epoxy glue, connect it to the cord and the switch mentioned earlier:
Makes a plug for the body, glues it, polishes it so that it is flush with the walls:
Adds a USB connector to the cord:
Parses the lamp, puts Danish oil in two layers, each subsequent after drying the previous one, collects again:
Finally, the master makes the cord look like a collar with a medal, and the lamp is ready. You can power the device from powerbank, PC, power supply with USB-output.
And the advertising slogan "your dog glows with health" takes on a new meaning.
