I welcome all fans to craft, I propose to consider instructions for the manufacture of a useful machine for the builder do it yourself. Using such homemade sand can be quickly sifted out by dividing it into three fractions. You will get screenings in the form of stones and other large parts, you will also have normal large clean sand, and you will also get fine sand with dust and other light particles. The machine consists of a powerful fan, which the author made of a grinder, as well as a sieve, which is driven by a 12V motor. If the project interests you, I propose to study it in more detail!
Materials and tools used by the author:
Material List:
- 12V motor (from a car stove or wipers);
- grinder;
- metal sieve;
- Sheet steel;
- square pipes or rods;
- radial bearing;
- 4 springs;
- small wooden blocks;
- paint and more.
Tool List:
- Bulgarian;
- welding machine;
- vise;
- drill;
- scissors for metal;
- pliers.
Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. Sieve
First of all, we will make a sieve through which we will sift the sand. You can buy a finished sieve with holes of the desired diameter, or you can make it with your own hands. Just take a sheet of metal, mark and drill holes. Even the holes can not be drilled, but simply pierced with a nail if the metal is soft enough.
Further, the author made a fringing for the sieve from wooden blocks, the sieve is nailed to the blocks with small cloves. At the end, the author cut four pieces of a round pipe as supports, welded washers to the pipe pieces. We fasten such supports in the corners of the sieve with self-tapping screws, these will be the supports for the springs.
Step Two Frame
We weld the frame for homemade work, the material can be the most diverse, but to minimize vibrations it is better to use which is heavier. The author found steel square rods and welded a frame from them.
Step Three Springs
The homemade sieve is mounted on springs, as a result of which it is able to move in different directions.
One end of the springs enters the supports from the tubes, and the other end is fixed on steel rods welded to the frame. As rods, bolts, pieces of round timber and so on can be adapted.
Step Four Motor
For a sieve to sift sand, it must move. Its author sets in motion motors for 12V, which can be found in the car stove or from car wipers.
The author puts a simple eccentric on the motor shaft, which is made of a radial bearing, this eccentric imitates the operation of the crankshaft. As for the "connecting rod", its author bent from a steel plate.
We attach the connecting rod to the sieve, and install the motor on the frame, the author made a bracket for it from a steel plate.
Step Five Propeller
For homemade work you will need a fairly powerful propeller that will blow off lighter particles. Of course, it would be nice to make such a propeller from a 12V motor, but the author decided to adapt his grinder for this. On the shaft of the grinder, you need to make a straightforward propeller, its author cut out with scissors for metal from thin sheet steel.
The grinder must be securely fixed to the frame under the sieve. The author made simple fasteners from steel plates for the grinder; the grinder is bolted.
Step Six Final touches and tests
For homemade work, you will also need to make a pallet where the screened sand will be collected. You will also need to make a visor along which pebbles and other large parts that do not pass through the sieve will be poured from the sieve.
After painting, homemade work can be experienced. The grinder must be turned on through the dimmer, so that you can adjust the desired force of the air flow. As for the 12V motor, it would also be nice to turn it on through the speed regulator, since without a gearbox the sieve can shake very much.
Testing the homemade product gave good results, the author was able to divide the sand mixture into three fractions. All parts can be used for construction purposes and not only. Of course, not only sand can be sown, but a sieve can be made for flour, cereals and more.
The project is completed on this, I hope you liked the homemade work, and you found useful thoughts for yourself. Good luck and creative inspiration, if you decide to repeat this. Do not forget to share your ideas and homemade things with us!
