In this article, the Wizard will show us how he made a tool for tensioning wire clamps.
On sale there is a special tool for knitting clamps and it is made according to the principle of wire tension. The sealant gun works on the principle of pushing the piston and this is great for this task.
Tools and materials:
-Gun for sealant;
- Socket wrench;
-Vise;
-File;
-Beard;
-Drill;
-Shlifstanok;
-Pliers;
-Metal core;
-Triangular file;
Step One: Disassembling the Gun
To alter the gun, unscrew the nut at the end of the pusher and remove the piston.
Then you need to remove the guide. The guide on this gun is riveted. The master grinds the rivet heads, knocks them out, dismantles the guide.
Step Two: Pin
About two centimeters from the end of the pusher, you need to drill a hole corresponding to the diameter of the metal rod.
Installs the pin in the hole.
Step Three: Groove
Sharpen the edge of the pusher with a cone. It pokes a groove at the end.
Now everything is ready. To install the clamp. wrap the wire around the hose and run the ends into the loop. Install the pusher with the groove in the loop. Tighten the ends of the wire and secure to the gun. Now you need to press the handle of the gun and the pusher will pull the wire. With sufficient tension, the gun rotates and the ends of the wire are bent around the loop.
Master say that the main drawback of this tool is its size. You can of course cut off part of the pusher and handles, but then it will be more difficult to clamp large diameter pipes.
In general, you choose what you need more, compactness or versatility.
