In order to make a simple bench, you need a board six meters long 190 x 19 mm or trim from which you can cut parts of it. The board needs to be cut off before cutting. Processing it is not necessary yet, if you plan to cover it with a stain or antiseptic, but it is better to do it later. It will take a few more stainless screws - galvanized will do just that.
1. Customize under a 22.5 º degree circular machine, a saw or just draw a template by hand. It is this angle that is needed when cutting the legs for the bench, so that then the back is located comfortably. A long six-meter board will have to be cut five times to get four legs. Two short rear 440 x 190 x 19 and two long front 915 x 190 x 19.
2. Add up front and back legs so that the short was inside the bench. We repeat the same with the other two, but in mirror image.
We align, check that both pairs of legs are symmetrical, (can be superimposed on each other) further clamped with clamps
We fix the legs. If we attach it to the screws, we drill holes of a smaller diameter (than the screws) in the front legs and make the recesses for the caps flush with the drill. We drill even smaller holes in the hind legs. This is done so as not to split the board when screeding. Then we tighten the legs of the bench with 30 mm screws.
You can make this fastening on ordinary galvanized bolts and nuts - if you do not trust the screws.
For extra reliability, you can add wooden cotter pins and put the legs on the glue.
3. We expose the assembled legs are parallel to each other, the front legs are in one line, the short legs are oriented back and inside the bench.
We fasten the seat from the double board with 65 mm screws, also stainless.
We fasten the back of the bench with the same screws.
4. We pass to the finish. In any case, it is necessary to paint or process the bench. it is outdoors and it needs to be protected from precipitation. You can cover it with ordinary oil paint for facade work, you can treat it with an antiseptic with a color scheme - there are a lot of options ...
