For the attention of lovers of craftsmanship, it is proposed to make a combined carpentry containing a table and a chair. The product can be made by anyone who, to a certain extent, owns a plane and a hacksaw.
Fig. 1 Combined joinery - Table - Chair.
chair back 1, seat parts 2 and 3, front legs 4 and rear 5 (Fig. 1). The first three parts are cut from a wide board 30 mm thick and 500 mm wide. In the absence of such a board, it can be replaced with multilayer plywood, or by dialing, gluing the blanks with casein glue.
Part templates 1, 2, and 3 are superimposed on a mesh whose mesh size is 50 x 50 mm. Transfer the part contours in full size to the material. Workpieces are carefully cut along the contour with a hacksaw with a narrow blade. The edges are carefully treated with a rasp and then with sandpaper. After this operation, we begin to manufacture the legs.
The front legs 4 are perpendicular to the seat, and the rear 5 are inclined to it under the fragility 86–87 °. The height of the points is 450-470 mm. In the heads with a hacksaw, we make cuts to a depth of 30 mm. Wooden wedges are inserted into these cuts and hammered with a hammer when installing the legs in the seat nests.
In part 3, we carefully mark the square holes for the legs. In order to avoid mistakes, we will retreat from the marking line inward by 4-5 mm and drill a series of holes with a drill with a 0 3 mm drill. With a chisel, carefully trim the inner square and cut it out. We expand the holes with a rasp to the original marking line. In the same way, in part 2 we make a rectangular hole.
We lubricate the finished holes in the parts of the seat, head of the legs and back with casein glue or epoxy resin and assemble the product by inserting wooden wedges into the cuts of the legs.
Let the glue dry, and then cut off the protruding parts of the wedges with a sharp knife or a hacksaw for metal. Parts 2 and 3 of the seat are interconnected by two loops. The chair, and at the same time the table, is ready. It remains to cover it with 2-3 layers of dark furniture varnish for complete readiness.
