How to make a rope from a regular plastic bottle





Summer is a holiday season. Many of us will go to the cottage, some will organize a picnic. In such places, a strong rope is often necessary to fasten something or to hang, to dry. But the ropes may not be at hand. There is no reason to be upset, because a strong rope can be made from an ordinary plastic bottle, which will definitely be present on the table.

So, in order to make the rope manufacturing process easier and more labor-consuming in the future, you can first take care of the machine, which will be used to make the rope in the future.

In order to make our own rope bottle making machine out of a plastic bottle, we need a wooden block that can be lightly sanded on one side, creating something like a handle for greater ease of use.



First of all, you need to make a gap on the top of the bar with a metal hacksaw and clean it with sandpaper. It is important not to overdo it, since the width of this gap should not be more than 2 millimeters.



The next step is to determine the thickness of the future rope. If you need a rope 1 cm thick, then you need to take a measurement in a centimeter from the inner end of the first gap and make another gap across. The second slot should not be more than one and a half centimeters in depth.





The machine is almost ready. It remains only to hammer two nails at the inner end of the first gap from two sides and bend them to the outside, cutting off the heads of the nails.



Thus, you can make your own machine for producing rope from plastic bottles. And it works as follows. In the second slot, you should pass a piece from the stationery knife into the second slot, bend the nails towards the blade so that it does not come off.



The next thing to do is to cut off the bottom of the bottle, since we will not need it. After that, push the bottle into the first slot and start pulling.From the end of the first slot to the blade, we still have a space of a centimeter, so the blade will cut the bottle into a long strip exactly this centimeter wide.



The advantage of the machine is that it can be modified, namely, to make additional cuts or slots parallel to the second, in order to produce ropes of different thicknesses. Thus, to obtain a rope of a certain thickness, it remains only to bend the nails, remove the blade and put it in the desired slot.

A successful compact design, only I would press the blade not with nails, but with self-tapping screws with a press washer, then the blade would not hang out.
