Traveling around Mexico, the master drew attention to the common armchair in this country, of such a style as in the photo. Armchairs can be made of different materials, with different installation methods, but they are all united by a deep pear-shaped seat in which it is very comfortable to sit. Having returned home, the master decided to make a similar chair for himself.
Tools and materials:
-Welding machine;
-USHM;
-Fittings;
-Aerosol spray can with paint;
-Marker;
-Roulette;
-Plywood sheet;
-Clips;
-Vinyl cord;
-Device for bending reinforcement;
Step One: Template
On the plywood sheet, the master draws a pear-shaped template.
Step two: bending the frame
Further, from the reinforcement 15 mm, bends the frame according to the template. The ends of the frame are welded.
Step Three: Lower Frame
Now you need to bend several parts from the reinforcement. The master indicates all sizes and angles in the photographs.
Now you need to weld the bottom of the frame.
Bends and welds the ring.
Step Four: Arc
The main frame of the chair is ready. The master takes measurements and welds arcs instead of legs.
Step Five: Stripping, Painting
Cleans the seams. Colors the chair.
Step Six: Weaving
The paint has dried and you can begin to weave the seat. Fastens the edge of the nylon cord to the outer ring of the frame. Stretches the cord through the ring. Wraps the cord around the outer frame and again extends it into the ring. So the master weaves to the middle of the chair. Then it fixes the cord, cuts it and starts weaving with another cord, yellow.
Mexican style rocking chair is done.
