The bench is not only a useful addition to the garden and cottage, where you can sit down to relax or have a cup of coffee, but also a beautiful decorative element. This element of decor will not remain without attention especially when it is made from one whole piece of a log without using nails and with your own hands.

So, in order to make a beautiful and original bench, we need:
- Meter log;
- Chainsaw.
With the necessary materials, we can begin the process of manufacturing our bench. First, you need to mark the log so that one half is slightly larger than the second. From the first part, a seat will be made in the future, and from the second - a back. One part must have a larger size, since it must be resistant when we make legs for it.
Next, we take a chainsaw and slowly cut the log into two parts strictly according to the marking.
When sawing a log, of course, some irregularities appear, which we will remove in this step of manufacturing our beautiful bench. Again, this can be done with a chainsaw.
The next thing we have to do the mount, which is usually called "dovetail." This mount is designed to connect the backrest with the seat. To do this, make markings on a small piece of log in the form of a triangle.
Next, take a chainsaw and cut this triangular piece.
We need to make the same recess on the seat, that is, on a large part of the log. How exactly the recesses should look, can be seen in the photo below.
The triangular piece obtained by cutting the first log is to be cleaned and divided into two equal parts.
We only need to stick two parts of a triangular piece into the seat, and then put the back of the seat on top. The seat, as such, is ready. It can already be put in this form, after removing the extra parts of the back. You can also give the back a slightly decorative look, for example, slightly rounding the corners. Such a seat will also become a rocking chair.
You can also make legs for the seat, for which we take two more logs and make a recess in the shape and size of the lower part of the seat with a chainsaw. We install the seat, fix the back, grind it, varnish it and we can enjoy a cup of our favorite coffee while sitting on a bench made with our own hands.
