Not every house has a soldering iron, but sometimes it is very necessary. Is it possible to replace it with something? Of course yes. The easiest option is to heat the screwdriver on gas and solder what you need. However, in this embodiment, the screwdriver cools too quickly, so this method is not the most effective.
In our video, we suggest you see how to make a gas soldering iron from a regular lighter do it yourself.

For work, we need to prepare:
- lighter;
- copper wire, 4 mm thick;
- thin copper wire;
- pliers.
After you have prepared everything you need, you can get to work.
Choosing a lighter for work, try to abandon the cheap options. Because such a lighter does not work for a long time, the presser foot will heat up and then melt. It is best to take a lighter that is designed to burn in the wind. It will have a stronger flame, which will allow the "soldering iron" to heat up faster, it will not heat the foot and will work with it much more efficiently.
From a thicker wire we will make a sting. Its thickness does not have to be 4 mm, you can take plus or minus. Do not forget only that with a thicker sting it will be very inconvenient to work, and it will take much longer to heat up.
Using pliers, we bend our wire in the form of a step. We sharpen one end on emery. And the second we wrap in a small loop, which is necessary for mounting on a lighter.
Now we apply the made soldering iron tip of the future soldering iron to the lighter itself and fasten it with a thin wire or clamp. We do the fastening by wrapping the wire around the lighter’s body, the more turns you make, the more securely the tip of the improvised soldering iron will be fixed and the more convenient it will work for you later.
Our soldering iron is ready, it remains only to check the operability of the structure.
