I want to introduce my version of a waterproof flash drive, maybe someone will be interested in this modding, since I myself have "drowned" the flash drive twice already, once in a washing machine, and once it got in heavy rain.
We have a pre-prepared flash drive. There is no article on disassembling and preparing, since I prepared a USB flash drive long before I registered on this site, well, I think that everyone will be able to disassemble a USB flash drive and unsolder the connector from the board itself.
And so, we need:
flash drive;
USB wire;
Syringe (in my case 10ml);
Nippers;
Epoxy or glue;
Soldering iron;
Rosin or flux;
“Equal” hands
In order to make a connection from a computer with our flash drive, we will need a USB cable.
I think everyone can get such a wire by cutting an unnecessary USB cable from a camera, printer, player, etc.
We clean its tip and tidy up the wiring in order to solder to the USB flash drive.
Now we need an ordinary syringe so that the stick of the flash drive enters it. In my case, I used a 10 cc used syringe
We cut the syringe under the rootlet with pliers.
We push through the cut hole and through the entire syringe our USB cable
We solder to the scarf of the flash drive and put the scarf in the syringe
IMPORTANT: do not reverse the polarity of power and data wiring
Now we install this entire structure vertically in a vice (if any, you can hold it in your hands) and the bays are all epoxy or epoxy glue
When the resin (glue) hardens, remove the USB flash drive and stick it into the computer to make sure it is working. Everything works, as the flashing green LED and the computer tell us about the USB flash drive)
