We make a phosphor or glowing powder at home

Phosphor or luminous powder is used in paints, nail polishes and in other objects and materials. We bring to your attention the material in which we will make the phosphor in home conditions.

Before starting work, we present to your attention an author’s video in which the author offers a method for manufacturing four phosphors with different colors of glow.

Components for luminous powder:
- coniferous extract;
- 4 jars of penicillin;
- boric acid;
- a syringe;
- lemon acid;
- fluorescein;
- oxalic acid.

The activators that we will use to make the phosphor are as follows: coniferous extract, citric acid, fluorescein and oxalic acid. There may be problems finding the last two activators, however the first two can be found in almost any supermarket, and the result will be no less effective.

First of all, we need to pour in all 4 jars of boric acid, about a centimeter from the bottom.

In order to activate boric acid, we need to add activators to it. Activators need to be added at 3 percent by weight of boric acid. Thus, add a couple of drops of coniferous concentrate.

In another jar, add a couple of crystals of oxalic acid.

In the third, again a couple of crystals of citric acid.

Finally, add a little fluorescein to the fourth jar of boric acid.

In all jars, add a little water with a syringe. It is important not to overdo it with water so that the mixture in jars does not become a solution.

Mix thoroughly.

Next, put our jars on the edges of the gas burner and turn it on.

The water should completely evaporate, and the mixture should be thoroughly mixed.

After some time, the mixture melts completely and turns into something similar to resin. The author notes that the more thoroughly the mixture melts, the better it is stirred and subsequently it will be better to glow.

When the mixture is well melted, our phosphor is ready. It works as follows.In order to activate the phosphor, it is enough to shine on it with an ultraviolet lamp or the most ordinary flash on the phone. After the light is turned off, the phosphor will retain the glow for several seconds.
