Turning an ordinary wooden pallet into a bench is a very simple operation that takes little time and costs almost nothing. This article will help you assemble a lightweight, sustainable, economical and beautiful recycled bench.
Material:
• 1 wooden pallet
• 14 screws with a size of 5 * 100 mm with a big hat
• Hand saw
• Scrap
• Grinder (if necessary)
Find the right pallet
First of all, you need to find such a pallet.
Pallet preparation
Saw the pallet strictly along the red line. Saw only the top layer.
The second section is made in the same place as shown in the photo. Saw only the bottom layer opposite the first cut.
We disassemble the pallet
With the help of scrap you need to carefully divide the pallet into two parts. Try not to damage the tree so that there are no cracks.
We collect elements
Insert blocks between the boards as shown in the photo. Separate a few boards from the largest segments and insert blocks of a smaller segment between these boards. Make sure the blocks are fully inserted.
Fasten the back
To fasten the elements together, insert the screws in the places shown by the arrows. 5 screws should be on top and 3 screws on the back. Even if it seems to you that the boards are fastened securely, we still recommend putting the indicated number of screws.
Height adjustment
To make the bench slightly higher and more stable, the author recommends attaching an additional element with screws in the same way as in the photo.
The bench is ready!
