If you want to make a unique interior thing do it yourself, then this homemade just for you. So, to create a rocking chair from a cable drum, we need:
Materials:
- cable drum,
- Nuts and bolts.
- Instruments:
- Milling machine,
- drill,
- Hammer,
- Spanners.
Step 1: Find the Cable Drum
Step 2: assemble the tools
Allocate space for the manufacture of chairs and collect the necessary tools. (As shown in the photo).
Step 3: Dismantling
Using a wrench, remove all fastening elements and disconnect the drum. We do not throw out the boards that remained in the process of dismantling, but we number them, we will still need them.
Step 4: Copy and Paste
You can use baking paper to sketch the place that we will cut out to install the future seat. Circle with a pencil and transfer to the second part of the drum.
Step 5: Milling
We apply paper, transfer it to the surface of the drum and cut out the grooves using a milling machine.
Step 6: Drill
We make holes for metal rods, which we will later install as a frame. Before drilling, pay attention to the location of the rods specified in step 8, after which we drill holes.
Step 7: Place the rods
Take pre-prepared nuts and bolts, to fix the rods, there will be 3 pcs. screw the metal rods into the holes until they are stable.
Step 8: Installation
We insert numbered boards into the cut-out grooves. After all the parts have become in place, tighten the bolts with a wrench.
Step 9: finish the chair
After everything is assembled, you can varnish the finished chair. We are waiting for the surface to dry. Now you can comfortably sit down and relax.
A rocking chair from a cable drum will become a highlight of the interior.
