Shelves are needed in the interior of an apartment, a country house or the garage, a mass of small things stored on them in the public domain. They carry a decorative load, so the unusual shape of the shelf will only emphasize your taste and sense of style.
Your attention is presented to the shelf from a cardboard pipe - unusual, beautiful and original.
Step number 1: decorate the cardboard tube
We cannot use a cardboard pipe in its natural form, so to speak: its structure is unsightly, which means that it needs to be decorated. There are several ways to do this:
• Use EVA foam to get a smooth surface;
• Choose a wallpaper of a suitable pattern and stick it on a cardboard tube;
• You can use veneer, but it is quite expensive;
• Alternatively, you can trim the cardboard cork;
• It is possible to paste over a pipe with old magazines, cards or newspapers;
• Leather trim will look beautiful;
• You can come up with your own finish
Measure a cardboard tube - you will need a diameter and a perimeter. Using the measurements obtained, cut out a figure for pasting from the wallpaper.
Perform the same manipulations with the cork (wallpaper is used for exterior decoration, and cork for interior). Both that, and another perfectly sticks to a cardboard surface with wood glue.
Step number 2: do the front of the shelf
After gluing the wallpaper, it is seen that the front of the pipe is dirty. In order to hide the impurities and give the front of the shelf (after all, it will be in front of the eyes of those who come to visit you, and yourself), you will have to make wooden circles, the diameter of which is suitable for the pipe.
The quantity (and, accordingly, the thickness of the front part) you determine yourself, the more circles - the thicker.
Step # 3: Optional
The next step is a matter of taste. The shelf can be left round, or you can make a flat surface from the inside to put all sorts of trinkets.
