In previous materials, we examined several methods for manufacturing various slingshots, bows and crossbows. We continue the theme of weapons homemade. This time we present to your attention a review of a video on manufacturing a powerful slingshot for shooting short arrows.
Let's start by watching the author’s video
So we need:
- paper;
- pencil or pen;
- ruler;
- scissors;
- a thick sheet of plywood;
- a hacksaw;
- sandpaper;
- tape harness;
- electrical tape;
- skewer.
First you need to take a piece of paper and draw on it the most ordinary slingshot. For greater convenience and time saving, we present the finished drawing below. You can redraw it or just download and print it on a regular printer.
Next, cut out the drawing.
We transfer it to a thick sheet of plywood.
We cut the slingshot, which was transferred to plywood with a hacksaw or any convenient tool.
Next, take sandpaper and carefully process the edges of the workpiece.
The next thing we take comfortable rubber, which we will use in the manufacture. The author uses the most common tape tourniquet. Two strands need to be cut from it. They are best done cone-shaped.
According to the author, this form of rubber will increase the power of the future slingshot.
Now you can fix the rubber on the slingshot, but before that it is necessary to wrap its horns with insulating tape.
We lean the strands against the horns and also wrap them with electrical tape.
Wrap the top with a strong thread.
Next, we connect the two free ends with kapron thread. It is most convenient to do this with a self-tightening knot.
The slingshot is ready. You can move on to making arrows for her.
Arrows will also not be quite standard. We take a pole for an arrow and a small metal skewer, which is suitable for making a tip.
Cut the tip of the skewer.
Slightly saw our arrow along.
We expand the cut with sandpaper so that the tip enters there.
Glue the cut out tip of the skewer into the cut on the arrow.
We wrap it with a strong thread.
The plumage for such an arrow can be done using ordinary tape.To do this, simply glue the adhesive tape on both sides and cut out the excess parts, giving the plumage a triangular shape.
We also twist the feathers in opposite directions so that the arrow stabilizes better in flight.
In order to charge the arrows, you need to take care of a special trigger. To make it, you need to make a hole near the tip at an angle of 45 degrees and place a piece of nail in it.
