We will need:
- 3 similar half-liter plastic bottles;
- tape foam 4 cm wide;
- duct tape.
We note immediately that when choosing bottles, you need to draw on the expansion at the edge of the neck. It should be as large as possible.
So, you need to cut the bottles as shown in the figure below.
Next, we take the foam rubber and wrap it around the short neck of the bottle. According to the author of the idea, it is very important to use foam rubber in order to get the best effect.
Insert one neck into another. It is very important that one neck is a sufficient distance from the second. If it is too close, then the gases do not have time to linger in the chamber, which will lead to the loss of the desired effect. It is also necessary to ensure that the foam fits snugly enough against the walls of the bottle.
In the same way we fix the third bottle.
The next step is to cut the bottom of the bottle and make a small hole
We fix in the bottom a round piece of foam with a hole made in the middle, having received a stub.
We fix the cap at the end of the structure.
Finally, we fix all the parts with adhesive tape.
Our silencer is ready. The author’s test showed that it significantly dampens the noise of an air rifle by about 85%.
