If you have a place in the apartment, where do you really want to put a sofa? But the sofa of standard dimensions does not fit? Let's try to make it do it yourself, the size and color scheme you need.
We begin to make the frame of the back of the sofa according to the drawing below. For details we will use a sanded board 20 mm thick and 4 and 6 mm wide. We connect all the details with the help of wood screws.
When the backrest frame is assembled, we fasten to it pre-prepared sheets of plywood in front and behind, also using self-tapping screws.
We proceed to the manufacture of the base of the seat. For this we need 4 bars 70 * 80 mm thick and about 120 mm high, and 4 bars 40 * 40 mm thick, and the length will be the size you need. We fix all the details on the screws and metal corners.
The backrest frame is glued with batting on all sides. And on top we embed with a cloth using a stapler.
According to the scheme, we assemble a seat for the future sofa. To do this, we need two long boards and three short ones. From below the plywood sheet is screwed. Next, we trim the seat with upholstery.
We attach the already upholstered seat to the base of the seat using self-tapping screws. Then the seat with the base is attached to the back.
The seat cover is made of thick plywood, according to your seat size. A foam rubber about 20 cm high lies on top, and is upholstered with fabric. The cover is attached to the seat using the piano hinge.
