Caterpillar all-terrain vehicle AKTm "Goose"

Caterpillar all-terrain vehicle AKTm

I present to you a new tracked all-terrain vehicle ACTm "Goose" from Stanislav from St. Petersburg. The decoding of the name is very simple-
the first letters of Alexei "Basin" modernized. Video

Stanislav, on the site is registered under the nickname Stac.

All terrain vehicle built using the engine from the Moskvich M-412, a gearbox (gearbox) also from Moskvich, the rear axle from the VAZ-2101, the transfer case from the VAZ-2121.

The frame is welded.

The frame is welded from a profile pipe 60x30x1.5 mm. Everything else from the pipe 20x20x1.5 mm.

The attachment point of the balancers is reinforced with metal corners 4 mm thick.

The engine from Moskvich is prepared for operation.

Cooling system.

During the break-in on the first day, the all-terrain vehicle drove 1.5 km through the village. On the second day of the break-in we drove 11 km in low gears. The speed was not higher than 25 km / h and the gas mileage was 4.5 liters.
A problem with the cooling system appeared during the break-in. Engine overheating due to an old clogged radiator and lack of a diffuser.
On the go, the all-terrain vehicle behaves smoothly, without pecks. He rides hard on the grader due to large cobblestones.

Moments of driving.

There are a lot of videos. I will not expose everything here, but I will make a reference at the end of the article.
The radiator is raised and brought to the side panel for better cooling.

There is some conclusion: if you need homemade work, first make a tool to make this homemade work ... :)))
Judging by the video presented, the cross-country vehicle is all right. But the bastard design should have worked more thoroughly - the rectangular plywood booth used as the cabin of the AKTm "Goose" looks too unpresentable. And the glazing area is clearly insufficient.
