Most people living in their house have poultry, which is good until there is a need to leave, for example, on vacation. After all, everyone has someone to look after the animals during the holidays, and at such moments you have to think about an automatic stand-alone feeder and drinker. It happened to me, exactly the day before departure.
Item 1. Lyric introduction.
Since electricity in villages is very often cut off, the use of electronics was immediately ruled out, full independence is needed for guaranteed reliability.
I had to quickly come up with and build such a feeder, looking ahead, I will say that it worked perfectly without failures and jambs for two weeks and continued to work on arrival for a month, until the feed in the bunker was over.
Item 2. Accessories.
For its manufacture of such a feeder, such materials and tools were useful to me:
• Beer bottle 30 liters (disposable PET KEG for beer bottling).
• Two empty tanks from under refrigerant (freon).
• Two metal corners of 50 cm each.
• Grinder, welding semiautomatic device.
Item 3. Production.
With the help of a grinder, we cut two empty metal tanks from freon, so that we get these two covers (hemispheres).
In one half we cut a hole under the neck of the hopper (eggplant), a can of corn came up well for the stencil, draw a scribble around the can.
With the help of a grinder, we cut through such a circle, it is necessary to cut on both sides.
We smooth and grind the burrs with a file.
Check how well the neck of the hopper enters.
Now an empty corn jar came in handy again, so that it could be put on the neck of the eggplant, you need to work out the side with pliers, now the jar is put on easily.
With a knife, we cut a cruciform hole in the bottom of the can.
We open the hole, we got a feed dispenser.
Now you need to firmly fix the jar in place, it is enough to plant four welding points or stick it.
View from above.
We cut the handles as in the photo, we got support legs.
We install the first hemisphere with the dispenser on top of the second hemisphere, with four welding points we fix (connect) the structure.
For reliable stability of the entire feeder, it is necessary to weld a wide base, in my case, these are two corners of 50 cm each. Fastened together by a jumper from the profile tube 15 * 15 * 1.5.
We insert the hopper into the upper hemisphere, an almost perfect coincidence of both adjacent forms, gives a very good fit and stable fixation of the entire structure.
That's the whole design, which is desirable to paint.
In the bottom of the eggplant, drill a hole D = 30 mm. to fill the feeder with a supply of feed (grain), the capacity of the feeder is equal to the displacement of the eggplant, in this case 30 liters of grain (bag).
We install the feeder in the chicken coop, for an additional guarantee that the hens will not turn the structure over, drive 130 cm of the metal pin into the ground and fasten the feeder to it with tape, now they will not fill up for sure.
We pour a bag of grain into the drive through a funnel of a 2.5 liter bottle, the system is started.
You can go on vacation!
