Clothespin holder

Surely not only I have one house on the balcony hangs a similar box for clothespins. And - not the first year.

But as practice has shown, this is not the best option:
• It is not always possible to find the right clothespin quickly. And my wife uses different things for different things in size and weight.
• Those clothespins that are on top are used more often. This means that they all wear out unevenly, and you have to choose and change them gradually, and not "all at once";
• Finally, this clothespin solution is not always convenient.

Therefore, the spouse asked for something to come up with a more convenient and practical, reinforcing it with a promise to bake a cherry pie as a "payment". Naturally, I immediately went to think and create.

The idea came very quickly, and for its implementation I needed:
• Seven pieces of chipboard 100x200 mm: they simply were available.
• Plexiglas strips, 50 mm wide (this is important, they must be at least), 3 mm thick. Although Mom did such holders, only from hardboard, they have been serving for a year now and do not break.
• A sharp knife, an edge with an adhesive layer, a bar with felt (use an ordinary rag).

• Drill, awl and hacksaw for metal: she sawed strips of hardboard.

• Screws: with a small countersunk head and a large decorative one.

• A drill / driver with an appropriate cross head for self-tapping screws.
• Tape measure, pencil and ordinary iron: do not be afraid to spoil it, it will not work.

That's all, so let's get started.
Paste chipboard sticks over the edge,

cut off the excess.

Plexiglass strips are cut into size (all the same length is 200 mm), and we drill a couple of holes.

We screw them to the ends of the bars. It turned out six L-shaped parts: one bar remains "superfluous".

We drill holes in them and screw them.

The result was such a "whatnot".

We hang clothespins on them: now they are always at hand, and when using it is not the first time, the hostess will take them without looking. Exactly what you need.

That's all wisdom.

Yes, and the last: This holder for clothespins has been serving for more than a year, and I have not had any complaints about this simple design. All just great. The only thing - get ready for the fact that the girlfriends of the spouse, seeing her on the balcony, will be asked to do the same for themselves. That was exactly what I had.

This is not a hobby, it is a necessity as a result of my hobby.

In the process of communicating with you, I have the following opinion about you (correct, if I am mistaken):
You are a "strong master", as I myself have christened such people. Living in the village, I observed such (in the village this property is especially noticeable). There are very few of them - one per village, or even less. Because, in addition to industriousness, one must also have powerful analytical thinking.
They, unlike the rest, were always concreted with paths in the courtyards. (And not dirt))), an iron gate and a net instead of rotten stakes .. The house is always painted and covered with iron! The house has central heating with a home-made solid boiler. (And the rest have stoves). In the house - tap water. (And it doesn’t matter that in the attic there is a tank, which is "poured" by the stream))). The rest are from the well with buckets). By the way, despite the fact that the well is located opposite their yard, in the yard of such a well! And yet: they always have three-phase current, welding, a concrete mixer, a circular (home-made), and even a home-made tractor !!! And be sure to chainsaw! (and others cut with two-handed)))
.. In short, these are people who CAN MUCH a lot, while not depending on others. (The same firewood, for example, he himself will easily harvest (a chainsaw) he will bring (a tractor) and he himself will cut and kill at home.
And yet ... As a rule, the fields of activity of such people are very vast. Everyone in the village had pigs. Almost everyone had a cow ... They also had pigs, shelter (s), sheep, chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys ... And also - bees!
.. I do not personally describe you now! I describe your type of people, and how they differed from the rest in the USSR.
Perhaps this is inherited. My parents died very early, but my grandfather was just like that. The master bear, as he was called, because he alone in the whole village could build a house, make a carpentry and glaze windows. For some reason, these simple works seemed to everyone else to be something super-highly qualified ...))). Perhaps I would be like that, but after the army I did not return to the village. And in the city he went "on a different path." At first, he also made furniture for himself, just to save money ...
.. Now I don’t need this, but when I leave the office and take off my tie, I like to “needlework” ... He will correct the hunchbacked grave "....)))

The THING PRODUCTION process is fun, not the TOOL MAINTENANCE process! These are slightly different processes!

Firstly, this is not a service (the service is completely different), but preparation for work in the required mode.
Secondly, when you do something, the question arises: how can you do it (with which tool? And you’re already starting to “go crazy” with what you have than good and high quality. I used to be more upset when I got into a dead end, and how to make a hole (for example) when you don’t have the right drill or something else. When you go and take the right self-tapping screw and insert the right bit ... From this, the manufacturing process itself turns into a pleasant one, and does not wind up the nerves, there’s nothing No, so it’s all interconnected, a hobby then. Enjoy n rocosta and done.
If you have a hobby, then where to "drive"? Replace the disc, drill ... this is the same process that gives pleasure.

... THIS PRODUCTION process is fun, not the TOOL MAINTENANCE process! smile These are slightly different processes! blush
And note, I do not blame it (in particular you), but this is not a panacea for every master.
That is why every time I draw my attention and highlight the words "FOR ME", "FOR YOU", etc. in a font.
And also, "How many people, so many opinions," which have already snapped at you! blush
The mnu "my personal" sewing machine also has .... Manual !! I sew a little - basically, covers for something home-made from awning or "bag" fabric ..
Quote: Valery
And if I expected some material gain from my homemade products, then yes! Then I would minimize the costs. In the meantime, I’m doing it FOR THE PLEASURE OF THE PROCESS, then thinking about costs is somehow stupid, agree ..

You're right for yourself, BUT !? If you have a hobby, then where to "drive"? Replace the disc, drill ... this is the same process that gives pleasure. Here one well-known “very smart” brother spoke about cross-stitching (my wife does this and very successfully), and I have my own “cool” machine and an overlock. I can sew myself (and not bad), but for my creativity I sew various awnings, awnings. This is not a hobby, it is a necessity as a result of my hobby. And these are two different things. I also do not pass by a good tool and it has already accumulated enough BUT !? There is no urgent need for this, just some kind of internal “fear” from the past when it was problematic to buy a good tool. And note, I do not blame it (in particular you), but this is not a panacea for every master.
P \ S. The awning for the boat was sewn by myself, there she still has her own awning (packed for the backs of the seatbacks).
Or here to my camper, such a canopy (photo). But this is not a hobby, it is a necessity in the process of creativity.
No need to juggle! I gave an example NOT IN THIS CONTEXT! I just wanted to say what I voiced earlier - the tool "for one operation" is able to perform this operation more efficiently in comparison with the "universal". A drill with a blow can never be compared with a hammer drill in drilling concrete (just like a hammer drill can not be compared with a drill in drilling metal or wood, although it can be used without a blow). Therefore, I believe that a blow in a drill is simply not needed, provided that I have a hammer !!! I need it only if I have NO punch. From trouble, let’s say so, even though already tormented so, but I’ll drill ...
... About the grinders, in general, is another matter. I have several of them the same because it is more convenient for me NOT TO CHANGE THE EQUIPMENT 20 times in the process ...
You don’t put five or ten cars at home, so that everyone would do their operation on a professional machine? Convenient, right? One seam, another zigzag ... No, it’s not profitable,
Well, for some reason ... If I did it FREQUENTLY, I probably would have acquired several so as not to rebuild each time ... Everything, of course, has its own measure, but, for example, my daughter is interested in sewing. (Also at the hobby level). I bought her a good Swiss car. (Although she started with the “pop” Singer, which quite suits many housewives.) So, her current “Bernina” is almost able to replace the overlock! .... But ... this is “almost” !!! .. This is still not a "punch", but a good "drill with a punch"))))). Therefore, she also has an overlock. Although she is not a professional seamstress. Moreover, the skill is growing (already has its own presented collection) and now she is thinking about replacing the overlock with a carpet!
So I have it with the grinders ...
... Yes, it’s not at all economical! ... And I'm not going to save! And I don’t expect my tool to pay off! (And daughter too). I did not buy it for this! I do not earn money with my hands! And this is a hobby ... Therefore, I agree to pay an extra 50-100 dollars for the fact that I will not change the circle ten times a night.
... And if I expected some material gain from my homemade products, then yes! Then I would minimize the costs. In the meantime, I’m doing it FOR THE PLEASURE OF THE PROCESS, then thinking about costs is somehow stupid, agree ...
P.S. And I have not 10 Bulgarian, but only seven! blush

Professional sewing machines, for example, “know how” to sew only one type of seam, while amateur sewing machines dozens ...))))

This is due to their purpose (one operation). Another similar one is tuned to a different seam and they scribble it (factory) until their “death”.You don’t put five or ten cars at home, so that everyone would do their operation on a professional machine? Convenient, right? That is one seam, on the other a zigzag ... No, this is not profitable, but to have ten grinders, for some reason, in your opinion it is convenient. Not a good example you have taken.
Emphasis ... Honestly, ..... God forbid ...
But I think that having disposable tools (performing one type of work) is not rational

A tool “sharpened” for one type of work on any one performs it better than its universal counterparts.))) This is well known. (Professional sewing machines, for example, "know how" to sew only one type of seam, while amateur sewing machines dozens ...))))
and spending the budget without much efficiency.

If the goal is to save, then I agree. And if it’s just a “hobby”?))) If the homemade product (originally known) becomes twice as expensive as the purchased analogue, but you’d like to do a “slightly different one ..)))) Or, if you want to, despite the fact that is she not needed? (as I had with the model of moonshine still. I then stupidly bought a stainless steel in the form of pipes, but it is far from cheap ...

P.S. And I don’t have duplicate axes there! )))). There are the same weight, but on different handles ...
And also Valery, there are home-made products (home helpers) and in general that you immediately want to do, repeat, but there is a saddle like a cow. It seems to be a saddle, but on the other hand, why is it a cow? So would you make such an emphasis on the door, as suggested above?
But such, for example, I welcome, I like. (a photo).
About people and opinions, this is already sore. But there is a word rationally, that is, it is convenient and at the same time less costly. I, too, in every corner have my own set of tools NEEDED in this corner (so as not to run every time). But I think that having disposable tools (performing one type of work) is not rational and a budget waste without much efficiency.
When the first “computers” appeared long ago, I came to a friend. in his “picture” the entire screen was “littered” with icons of various stripes (it was then cool), although everything could fit into a dozen folders. For your occasion; I know what an ax is and what it is eaten with (what can they do), I know what and what each species is for. And there are not so many such species for a carpenter or a carpenter (we do not take butchers and executioners), so I was surprised at the abundance of repeating specimens.
You like it, for God's sake. We are talking about a typical case, not a particular one.
Here again .... I do not need ... You do not need ...
... And someone is more comfortable, although we are not able to understand this ...)))))
P.S. No further, as my argument with you last night recalled ... Remember, you argued that you did not need any instrument in several copies. What is easier on one snap ...
... So, I was sitting on the roof, doing a binder and remembered.))) Because I have 2 extension cords unwound. One below, near a stack with boards. And there is connected a grinder with a circle on a tree, lies a tape measure, a pencil and a square.
And the second one is pulled upstairs - and ONE MORE TWO grinders are included (a circle on a tree and a "toothy" milling cutter for metal) and there are TWO screwdrivers (bits PH-2 for screws and bits under 8mm for roofing), ONE MORE ONE tape measure, ONE MORE ONE elbow ....: tired_face:
... So I remembered our argument ... Really, it really would be more convenient for you not to have a ready-made tool at hand, but, sitting on the scaffolds or stairs, to change the equipment. (Periodically peeling off when a bit falls down)))). And then, getting down to cut off the desired board, remove the tool with you, and then lift it back? : scream:: joy:
... I feel so comfortable ...
..And he needs clothespins of different stiffness and size ...: smirk:
How many people - so many opinions ...
Quote: Kirill-sev
I have about 120 pieces of five types, of different stiffness and sizes.

Forgive me, well, clothes pegs do not have such a criterion (necessity) that they would have five types with different stiffness. Well, they do not need such a "guest", by and large, and one type of eye.
Author
I really have a lot of them.Panties, socks, shirts, scarves and all the rest - in total, I have about 120 pieces of five types, of different stiffness and sizes.
Author
Really perfectionism, but convenient. And this is the main thing.
Well, the bolts and nuts for everyone are in different boxes, if there are not 20 of them in total. Because there are many of them, and many types by which they must be chosen.
And the clothespins themselves are few, and their species are 2-3. Therefore, it is more convenient if they are all at hand at the same time. IMHO.
This is a kind of perfectionism. Someone has all the bolts / nuts in 1 can, and someone puts them in separate boxes. Here is a more orderly storage of clothespins.
I have a “dryer” hanging on my balcony, in which the rods rise to the ceiling by a string through the blocks. So, the clothes pegs hang on one of the rods ... If someone has cords taut, then they usually hang on one of them ... So, is it more convenient or not? Also, clothespins are always at hand when you hang clothes ... And when you take off, hang a clothespin on a cord / bar. After removal, you simply shift them to the side ...
... Why fence the garden?
And what does the “necessary” clothespin need to be looked for? Do you often hang your own underwear? We don’t have such a problem. Each time, "string" a clothespin on this adapt, in the right row? Neither think it is more convenient.
