When installing a balcony door from the kitchen, first of all, you need to solve the issue of heating. Heating radiators are placed in the place of greatest heat loss. In the kitchen this place is a window, and a radiator is placed under it. With a single-pipe heating system (the pipe is laid below the radiator), the radiator can be shifted to the side. Of course, you need a welder. But if you have adopted a two-pipe system and the radiator in the kitchen is not final, then, perhaps, it is better to refuse this venture.
It’s hardly advisable to remove the radiator altogether, inventing a “substitute” for heating, or remodel the entire heating system.
After resolving the issue of heating, proceed to disassemble the window. Take out the glass, remove the metal tide, take out the window sill, tow. Carefully pull out the four nails holding the window box to the wall. Knock down the slope plaster and take out the box. To remove or not to remove the sash from the window, the case will tell. Without sashes, the window, of course, is easier, but you can easily skew or even break the box.
After dismantling the window box, proceed to disassemble the wall down from the window sill to the width and depth of the standard balcony block - 2088x688 mm (2.1x0.7 m). Installation of a balcony door is achieved by reducing the width of the window. Do not touch the walls in breadth from the opening!
Which side to disassemble? Which one do you want. If a door opens onto a wall, it usually blocks a gas stove or table, or something else of furniture (our kitchens are so small!). If the door opens to the window, she tears the curtains. On the balcony - there our wives hang clothesline. It is better to purchase a balcony door in advance.
And depending on whether the door is left or right, decide which side you will put it on. The aperture under the balcony block in the brick wall is dismantled with a scarpel, in concrete - with a jackhammer (Fig. 10).
The balcony door frame is installed in the opening along with the canvas (to avoid skewing). Its verticality is checked by a plumb line. Fix the box with four nails. Two nails into old corks, two from below, into new, specially prepared ones.Put the old window block into the opening, cross out on horizontal bars the line by which you want to narrow the block.
How to bandage a window block with a decrease in size? This is not as scary as it seems. Clean the joints on the reduction side of the window box from paint. If the mating angles are connected by metal corners, cut them; if there is a wooden dowel, drill it. (Nagel is a wooden stick of round or rectangular cross-section; serves to fasten parts. A nail is also a Nagel, only metal.)
Now carefully separate the mating parts. Only carefully, do not break, they can also be on glue. After freeing the side block, saw off horizontal blocks on the block on the block (you applied it beforehand when you put the block into the opening). Cut out the required spike connection, the sawed pieces will serve as templates (do not mix the upper and lower pieces in places!).
Now connect the new nodes. The window sash is tied up in exactly the same way. If it turns out to be very narrow, so what? Make it undiscoverable.
Afraid of making a spike connection? And what to be afraid of! What do you think, they are perfect for joiners, such as those painted in smart books? No matter how, wedges are all over the place! There is one good proverb that is valid to this day: "Would not be a wedge, but not moss and a carpenter would die." Of course, we must try to do well, but if it doesn’t work out, buy in the store and put metal corners on the corners.
Use a hacksaw with a small and oblique tooth for the spike partition, a narrow chisel to select the spikes, and you will succeed.
Insert the bandaged window block into the opening, fix it with nails to the wall and the balcony block. Caulk, insert a shortened window sill. Perform new slopes, cash. Put a metal tint. Glaze.
