This article will examine one of the methods for making a hearth. Such a hearth can be used not only by blacksmiths, but also glassblowers. This furnace operates on propane and, according to the author, the heating temperature of the furnace is very high.
Attention: The author warns of the careful handling of propane. Also, when working with the oven, be sure to use personal protective equipment.

Step 1: Housing
The author made the cases out of an air receiver. Marked and cut, from both ends of the cylinder, the walls. The author draws attention to the fact that there are already “legs” on the cylinder, if you make the body from another cylinder or pipe, you must, if not, weld them.
Step 2: Burner Guide
For the guide, it is necessary to take a piece of pipe with a diameter larger than the burner. The author used a large diameter fitting. In the upper part of the body marked the installation location of the guide. I drilled holes in a circle. Dremel cut a hole in the body.
In the middle part of the fitting, at an equal distance from each other, four holes are drilled around the circumference. Cuts screw holes in holes.
Installs the fitting into the hole in the housing and welds it.
In the future, the burner will be installed in the guide and fixed with screws.
Step 3: Refractory Brick Installation
In the lower part of the furnace, the author installed a refractory brick. To do this, he cut one of the bricks into four parts. He laid them in a row at the bottom of the furnace. On top of heat-resistant cement, the remaining bricks were fixed.
Step 4: Refractory web material
The author protected all the walls of the casing with the help of the so-called ceramic blanket.
I measured the circumference of the hearth, cut out the material, laid it inside in two layers. He laid the material between the bricks at the bottom. Cut a hole in the material under the burner.
Step 5: Installing the Back Wall
I cut out a template from the film and transferred it to a heat-insulating plate. I cut the back and installed it in the oven. The wall is not continuous, but with a cut-out so that there is oxygen access even if a long part is to be processed. It is held by thermal insulation material.
Step 6: Front
In order for there to be access inside the horn, the author made the front part removable. Cut off a piece of the profile pipe. I drilled two holes in it and cut the threads for the screws. Welded the pipe to the body.
I cut a support in the form of the letter U. I welded an L-shaped plate to it.

Step 7: Lining
For refractory lining, the author used ITC-100HT.
After stirring it with water, I applied it to the entire inner surface of the furnace with a brush. I missed the end parts.

Step 8: starting the furnace
Work with mining is necessary only in personal protective equipment. You must have a fire extinguisher at the workplace. Light the burner and set it to low power. Do not turn on the burner at full power until the lining dries. After heating the oven for 15-20 minutes, you can use it at full capacity.
