Good afternoon! Once upon a time, when I just started getting involved in various homemadeI came across a video. When I saw him, fell out of the chair. The fact is that since childhood I love to make various models of aircraft: paper, rubber, etc. So, in this video, planes hovered, and they flew for 10 minutes. I thought that these are some of the most complicated radio-controlled models. I looked for information about them: these were rubber-engine models made of balsa, I quickly realized that I could not master them, and closed the tab. Now 2 years have passed and I came across this video again. Summer, no studies, free time nowhere to go.
I read about these models on the forums, and was immediately upset: the material is balsa, and I can not afford it. He began to think whether it was possible to replace balm with something. Thanks to a friend of mine for good advice! Straw is the key to the decision. In our yard a thin bluegrass grows - go and take as much as you want. Found a simple drawing, on the basis of which he made this model. And now I want to tell you how to make such a model, having 0 p in your pocket.

To begin with, we need straw, a coffee stick, superglue, a thin wire (wires are twisted with such a wire, you can take it in a store), a copybook and a bag.
Go! We begin work with the manufacture of a rubber motor. First you need to make the following parts: a washer (a paper strip 1.5 mm thick twisted along the diameter of the wire), a boss (a straw 4 mm long), hooks, blades (IMPORTANT: make blades from a notebook sheet), and you also need a straw to attach the blades. Then we assemble the structure as shown in the figure (IMPORTANT: it is better to stick the blades at the very last moment).
We glue the entire mechanism and hook to the fuselage rail 135 mm long. In my opinion, the coolest moments of a flight are take-off and landing, but how does an airplane land and take off without landing gear? Chassis racks are made of straws 80 mm long. At a distance of 85 mm from the edge we attach a stick with a length of 20 mm (it is needed for attaching the wings). Nothing can be attached to the ends of the chassis racks.
We make the second part for attaching the wings. It consists of two parts: a thin straw and a thicker straw so that the small one enters the large one. The length of this design is 20 mm. This is necessary to adjust the angle of the wing (so that the plane flies smoothly).
Now we make wings.We make the body, we cover the wings with a bag (we coat the body with glue and pencil and glue it on the smoothed film; it is better to smooth it with a hairdryer) and bend the tips.
We do the tail.
We make a tail boom with fastening from straws of average thickness 115 mm long.
Attach the tail
We glue everything together.
The gum itself is best made from household gum: pull out 6 threads of 500 mm length from there and fasten together. Well, that’s it, the airplane is ready! It can be launched both from the hand and from the chassis.
