Today I want to share my next homemade product, which the door called "winter-summer", the door that will save, i.e. delay the cold in winter, and in the summer, any flying insects: mosquito flies, etc.
Winters are cold, often below the thirties. House in cold weather, door pulls chill. Previously, usually a simple blanket was hung on the doorway, but the blanket does not hang tightly, from below and on the sides, it still blows a chill. This winter I decided to make just such a door made of slats covered with a blanket, it turned out to be dense and light, and it does not pull in the cold anymore.
Well, let's get down to the description of the work I have done when designing this door.
To begin with, I took the bars, dried since the autumn over the stove, of which I sawed on a circular saw slats, ~ 20 mm thick and ~ 50 mm wide photo 1.2.
Then he walked along the slats with a planer photo3. And took the dimensions of the doorway.
For these sizes, I assembled such a frame from battens and for durability, I screwed the corners sawn from plywood onto the corners of this frame with self-tapping screws. Photo 4.5.
Well, a little about the connections of the rails. I have already assembled the frame; I will show how I made the connections on the scraps of rails.
We take a rail and in the center of the end face of the rail, draw a circle with a pen drill. Photo 6.

Then, we take the second rail and with the same feather we drill a hole about half the thickness of the rail, a little more. photo8.9.
In a piece, unnecessary, five or better seven-layer plywood, we drill a through hole. Photo 10.
On the first rail we make such a marking, on all four sides, this is the width of the intended circle and the transverse line, the depth of the hole on the second rail. Photo 11.12.
Then with a hacksaw for metal, make a cut from all sides, to the thickness of the circle. Photo 13.
We put a knife on the edge of the circle and chip on four sides. photo14.15.16.
So we cut off the remaining corners. Photo 17.
Now we take the plywood with the hole and, turning it, put it on the spike, thereby smoothing out the remaining irregularities. Photo 18.19.20.
It turned out such a connection.You can fix it on the side with a small self-tapping screw so that it does not rotate. Photo 21.
We fasten thin blankets in half, folded in half, to the frame, and also fasten the loops to the frame. Photo 22.
Now it remains to install the door in place. Photo 23.24.
Summer option:
We remove the door from the hinges, unscrew the slats, remove the blanket, put a mosquito net on the frame, fasten the slats in place and hang the door on the hinges. In summer, you can not close the main door and flies do not fly into the house.
