DIY mousetrap

My neighbor began to be disturbed by mice. A cat was available, but was also of advanced age; hard of hearing, hard of seeing and lying more on the stove. A neighbor began to bother me. I bought her a mousetrap for testing,

during the test one mouse got caught, and then the mousetrap wanted to catch the cat and not so much hurt the cat - how much it scared. A mousetrap was installed in the bathhouse, the cat didn’t go there, but a neighbor visited. Here with such information for thought, I wandered around the yard, looking into all corners and sheds, sorting through unnecessary trash.

The solution to the problem was still rushing inside my head, and I put a pine rail on a workbench,

designed in the furnace, hacksaw on wood,

rotor

wood drill bit

hand planer

hammer,

pliers

a coil of steel wire with a diameter of 2 mm

(central steel core made of aluminum cable for power lines)

, nails,

nails

shred of fiberboard,

a coil of rusty wire with a diameter of 1.5 mm,

sandpaper

measuring and drawing accessories.

He cut the rail with a planer, marked it into 6 equal parts and sawed it with a hand hacksaw. I cut the ends of the cuts with an emery cloth. It turned out 6 dies with a length of 250, a width of 45 and a thickness of 20 mm.

I marked 1 die on 4 mouse flats, put four dies with nails, and the fifth, with marking, temporarily sewn them with nails.
Using a 20 mm drill with a feather drill, I drilled 4 minks through the dies.

From a piece of fiberboard cut

strips 10 mm wide

then tore off a temporarily sewn die. He laid out the strips at the edges, in the middle and at the bottom of the dies, which were nailed together

on top of the strips, he put the face plate torn off earlier and finally fastened it with carnations. A gap of 3 mm was formed between the front die and the others on top. He pinned the sixth die without holes at the back. I retreated from the gap 30 mm towards the sixth die, in the center of each mink, stepping 3 mm in both directions, drilled two holes with a 2.5 mm long drill, plus a hole in the center of the mink in the sixth die.

4 pieces of 25 cm long were cut from steel wire,

wound on a wooden blank from the handle

mops with a diameter of 15 mm in two turns.

One end of the spring is fixed in the hole 6 of the die,

secured a loop on another - a 1.5 mm wire noose, previously removing rust with an emery cloth.

I put the finished mousetrap with the holes up, put the sausage skins in the mink, tilted the end of the spring with a loop so that the loop went into the slot. The loop was fixed in the hole with a screwdriver handle. He pulled the thread through the double holes with a clamping needle,

grabbing the spring, tied the ends.

I did the same procedure with the rest of the springs.

It turned out that the springs are firmly seated, but they are spinning around their axis - I passed through them the wooden block on which the springs were wound and there was no problem.

The mousetrap is charged, a curious mouse will definitely want to examine the mink, it learns the smell of sausage and the threads will not stop it - it will gnaw at once. The spring will sharply pull the loop - the noose and the mouse will be pressed to the ceiling of the mink. My cat is young, it copes with mice myself, I will take the mouse trap to my neighbor for testing and subsequent operation.
