Step One: Theory
As conceived by the master, if the protective layer is removed from the back of the mirror and the mirror is illuminated from the end, then a picture will be visible from the front.
Step Two: Sketch
Using a graphics tablet, the master makes a sketch of a snowman, and then prints it on paper. Fixes the pattern on the back of the mirror with water-soluble glue. The engraver draws the lines in such a way that the protective layer of the mirror is removed. He took off the paper.
Step two: frame sketch
The frame consists of two halves. Inside, the front of the frame, a selection will be made under the mirror. Below, the author will make a groove for the LED strip.
Step Three: Making the Front of the Frame
First, the master makes the lower bar of the front frame. Edges cut off at 45 degrees. Makes a selection and a groove. Pre-installs tape and mirror.
Makes the remaining three parts of the front frame. The LED strip will be only from the bottom, so they only make a selection.
In the corners selects the grooves under the spike. Makes a selection for the wire.
Assembles a frame. Joins the joints with glue. Fixes the frame with a clamp.
Step Four: Back Frame
The rear frame is made in the form of a box. The controller will be placed inside. From the back, the frame has a selection under the back cover.
After all the parts are cut off, the frame is assembled. Glues and fixes with a clamp.
For strength, drills the frame at the corners and installs the dowels.
Step Five: Frame Assembly
Glues the front and back of the frame.
Step Six: Install LED Strip and Mirror
For your project, a master RGB-tape WS2812B. Measured and cut the tape of the desired length. I checked the performance. Peeled off the backing tape. I glued the tape to the frame.
Installs and fixes the mirror. When installing, it is necessary to pay attention that the end of the mirror is located exactly above the LEDs. It covers the back side of the mirror with plywood.
Installs the controller. Since the remote control is connected to the controller using the infrared port, the receiver is output to the front of the frame, and the controller itself is fixed inside the frame.
Seventh step: installing the back wall and suspension
Installs the back wall of plywood. Cut lengthwise into two wooden planks. The angle of cut is 45 degrees.
Fastens one bar on the top of the frame cut down. The other bar is fixed on the wall with a cut up. Hangs and a frame on the wall. Connects to the network. All is ready.
The snowman lamp is ready. As you can see, there is nothing complicated in its manufacture. In the manufacture of such a lamp, it is not necessary to use expensive machines, you can do it with an improvised tool. The same technology can be applied in the manufacture of any other drawing or, for example, portrait.
