Manufacturing process.
Making a lift door on a nightstand or cabinet is not at all difficult. To do this, you must first mill a groove running along the upper part of the side of the cabinet. Furniture wheels will move along it, which will enable the door to flip over to a horizontal position.
In the hardware store or furniture fittings department, you can select the parts that are suitable for the lift door. But the author prefers improvisation. He removes the wheels from the existing old drawer rails by drilling the fastening rivets with a drill.
The rising door on both sides will have such rollers. When installing these wheels to help himself, the author uses such a conductor made of plywood. It will help to set the wheels exactly in the same place on both sides of the door.
Also, two rollers are installed near the front edges of the grooves.
Next comes a preliminary check on the accuracy of the door fit.
After processing the door, gluing the handle to it, and varnishing, the final assembly follows.
The door just opens like that. If it is not fully extended, a small additional table is obtained.
