Step-by-step manufacturing of a portable hearth from a can
First of all, you should prepare a place on a workbench or table, for convenient and safe work, as well as all materials and tools.
1 step
We take a can, a board or plywood 300x450x20 in size, prepared pipe sections and two bolts assembled. We need this set of materials for the manufacture of a portable hearth case. The sides under the cover should be left, they are useful for supporting fireclay clay and give overall structural rigidity.
On the side of the can, it is advisable to stick to the middle as accurately as possible, at an equal distance from the edges, drill two holes and fix the bolts there, pulling them to the can with a washer and nut.
At the same distance, drill holes in a wooden base, from the back of which you should drill more holes in order to drown the fixing nuts.
Then putting pieces of pipe on the bolts, we fasten the entire structure to the base. The protruding ends of the bolts, then it is necessary to saw off with a hacksaw for metal so that the base lies on the surface evenly. Or, as an option, screw small legs to the bottom of the base.
At this stage, the whole structure should look like this:

Carefully make a hole in the upper lateral plane of the can to install the nozzle. Tin is cut with any improvised tool (scissors, knife), the main thing is to make precise marking in the center of the plane. The hole must be exactly in the outer diameter of the tube. We strengthen the tube at an insignificant angle, with a 1.5 cm entry into the can.
3 step
Dilute the clay to a homogeneous state, the fluidity is similar to the tile adhesive. We install inside the cans, exactly in the middle of the can of deodorant or the like, lubricating it with petroleum jelly or other technical oil.
We fix it with tape. We fill all the free space with a solution of chamotte clay, constantly tapping on a jar to remove air and condense the solution.
Clay hardening lasts about 5 days, after which you can carefully remove the can and make a hole in the back of the can. This is necessary for working with long parts.
4 step
We insert the burner into the nozzle and gradually raising the torch we begin to temper the clay. At the same time, our portable horn is undergoing sea trials.
At the end of the work, you can paint our device in a modern golden color.
