Very often, such a simple thing as a press is required at home and in a workshop. There are a lot of examples, starting from home cooking and ending with gluing two surfaces under pressure. I will show and tell you how to make a simple hand press from a car jack.
In my design I will use a classic diamond-shaped jack and a wooden case for the press. All this will help me create an effort of the order of 400-500 kg. If you use a metal frame, it will be possible to increase the pressure force to 1.5-2 tons. Well, if you use a hydraulic jack with a good metal case, then you can achieve a pressure force of about 4-5 tons.
This design is quite simple and primitive, I think, absolutely every owner can repeat it the garage.
For the manufacture of the press you will need
1- Diamond jack.
2- Wooden blanks.
3- Various metal corners from a hardware store.
4- Drill.
5- Drills.
6- Self-tapping screws.
7- Marker or pen.
8- Ruler or tape measure.
9- Jigsaw.

Making a press from a jack.
1- Well, we will not take time and immediately proceed to the assembly of the press from the jack. First you need four identical blanks with dimensions of 30 cm by 15 cm and 5 cm.
2- In two of them you need to cut a groove under the sliding parts of the jack. To do this, leave labels similar to those shown in the photo below.
3- After we marked the grooves on two wooden blanks, we should use a special drill to cut round holes to make a hole in the indicated place (see photo below).
4- Something like this should turn out for you (see photo below).
5- And then, using a hand or electric jigsaw or a simple saw, we cut out the rest of the office.
6- You should get something like this, as it is shown in the photo below.
7- Now take the jack and hold it in tugs. In one of its legs, upper or lower, using an ordinary drill, we drill four holes for attaching the jack to the body.
8- After we have drilled four holes in one of the legs of the jack we fasten it to one of the wooden blanks. You need to fasten it to a wooden blank, which is without a groove and exactly in the center. And you need to screw on ordinary screws. And to facilitate this process, I recommend screwing it with a screwdriver.

9- And for an inherent sole, you will need a wooden square with dimensions of 10 by 10 centimeters, and you will also need a metal lining for the sole. A metal sole is needed to reinforce the wooden square.
10- We connect a wooden square and a metal cladding.
11- Next, connect the two workpieces using self-tapping screws.
12- After which we bend the edges of the metal cladding, so that you get approximately, as it is shown in the photo below.
13- We fasten to the jack the resulting sole to the jack, using a metal strip with two holes. It is passed through the jack and screwed to the bar with screws.
14- Something like this should happen for you (see photo below).
15- After which it will be necessary to assemble the press body. Connect the wooden workpiece housing should be self-tapping.
16- Since we have a wooden case, it should be strengthened. We will reinforce the wooden case of the press with the help of aluminum plates of an angular shape (see photo below). Such plates will need 8pcs, 4 corners on each side.
17- The press is ready.
Tests and conclusions.
In place of how to twist this press with our hands, we will use it with a drill or a screwdriver.
