Today we will do simple device for the grinder. It will be the simplest tire with a carriage for even cuts of sheet metal and more. For quite a long time, the author had this idea spinning in his head and now, he decided to bring the idea to life.
Our device is simple, so we need a minimum of materials.
Tools and materials:
1. The first and main thing is the grinder herself (the author will use the battery);
2. A piece of profile pipe 40 by 60 mm and a length of 150 mm;
3. Profile pipe with 25 mm sides. In length, you can take it to your needs, the author, for example, decided that a piece of 1 meter long would be enough for him.
As usual, we start with the markup. From a pipe 40 to 60 mm, it is necessary to cut a corner with sides 50 to 35 mm. The author marks a piece of pipe with his boom with a thicknesser purchased in China.
Next, cut it with a grinder.
From the remainder of the pipe we cut two more strips 25 and 20 mm wide, also using a grinder.
When all the workpieces are done, we proceed to welding. We wrap the profile pipe with a sheet of paper (this is to make the gaps between the parts to be welded and the pipe), expose all the workpieces as shown below, clamp with clamps and grasp with a welding machine.
Now you can weld and grind everything. Here we have such a detail.
Now we will attach the angle grinder (angle grinder) to the carriage.
We won’t think a lot, but we’ll just weld two strips of metal with holes for fasteners. It is better to weld in place. Therefore, we fasten the strips to the patient and grab.
And now you can paint. A day later, such a beauty we got:
Install the angle grinder and move on to the tests.
We will cut a piece of 3 mm metal. The author secured the guide rail using two clamps. Let's get started.
As we see the device works, but at this stage, the author regretted that he installed the carriage on the cordless angle grinder. It is much weaker than the network one, so most likely, later the author will redo the carriage for a network angle grinder with a 125 mm disk.
Here is such a smooth cut is obtained using our device. Personally, the author of this homemade product was very pleased with him.
