Trick 1. We increase the cross-country ability of the car
Probably everyone is familiar with the situation when you need to move off a flat asphalt pavement and drive along an unfamiliar field or forest road. It is good if this path turns out to be easily overcomeable and trouble-free. But what to do if you have an ordinary passenger car, and you need to drive along a plowed field or a path that has soured in mud. Turn and drive back? Not necessary.
If you have any doubts about the ability of your car to overcome such a terrain, you can resort to tricks. To implement it, you only need a skein of rope or twine of medium thickness. It can tie the drive wheels in several places, thereby increasing the adhesion to the coating.
We skip the rope into the holes of the disk (or stamping) and wrap the tire a couple of times. Then we tie a strong knot and cut the rope. And so we repeat on different segments of the wheel 4-6 times, until you get the result as in the photo.
Naturally, for a permanent or long-term ride, this method is not suitable: the rope will fray very quickly. However, for a single overcoming of any problem area, it will fit perfectly.
However, do not overestimate this measure. Wheel tying does not turn the car into an over-passable SUV, so adequately correlate the capabilities of your vehicle with the terrain and coverage of a particular area.
Trick 2. We close the puncture on our own
In addition to bumps, holes and other obstacles on the roads, sharp objects are sometimes found: nails, stones, pieces of metal, protruding parts of the accompanying infrastructure, etc. Due to a collision with such surprises, the car owner should go for tire service. Well, if he is nearby. And if the puncture happened on the highway or in the countryside, away from "civilization"? And there is no spare wheel, and there is no tourniquet for tire cuts.
A simple self-tapping screw will help. And it is also desirable to have a sealant with you (although you can try without it). The first step is to find the puncture site. Next, we coat the self-tapping screw (its thickness should be greater than the puncture hole) in the sealant and screw it into the puncture using an autonomous drill or screwdriver.
Now the car will definitely reach the service station.
Remember that this is a temporary measure, suitable only for cars to be able to get to tire fitting under their own power. Moreover, you need to drive carefully and at low speed.
Trick 3. We carry dimensional cargo
Self-employed building, knows: delivery of lumber costs a pretty penny. However, if you have your own car with a roof rack mounted, you can even transport 6-meter boards and other overall purchases on your own.
The trick is to securely secure such a long load. After we laid the boards on the trunk, we fasten them closer to the ends with a transverse wooden block, fixing it with screws to each board.
We have a single platform. Only then can the load be fixed by means of ropes. First we tie the boards in the center, as is usually done when transporting standard luggage. Having fixed the central section, we proceed to the binding of the ends. We pass the rope from the center along the diagonal of the platform from the boards and fasten the rope to the front and rear towing eyes.
Thanks to this method of fastening, the overall load is securely fixed, so you can not worry that it will fly apart during transportation. However, moving with such luggage still needs to be very careful. We drive to the destination leisurely, without sharp maneuvers and speeding. We pay special attention to bends and exits from minor roads to the main ones - we slow down in these sections and monitor obstacles that may be located at the level of the transported cargo.
