Anti-ice - do-it-yourself sole cover

Hello dear readers and the inhabitants of our site!
Winter has come and ice, the author of YouTube channel "BigDecimal" will tell you how to make a non-slip coating for the sole of your shoes. If you believe the author, then this coverage is enough for a long time.

This coating can be applied in home conditions using simple tools.

Materials and tools used by the author.
- Old abrasive grinding wheel, with a large fraction of grains
- Two-component epoxy resin
- Thinner, gasoline or white spirit
- Hammer
- Mortar metal
- pliers
- Sieve
- Kitchen scales
- Metal shavings
- Plastic container with a flat bottom
- Wooden skewer.

Manufacturing process.
First of all, you need to break the abrasive wheel into several small pieces. Of course, you can use coarse sand.

Then it is necessary to grind disk fragments in a metal mortar to the state of large granules, but not to dust.

Now you need to sift through a large sieve, and then through a fine sieve, removing very dust, leaving the middle fraction of the granules.

It turns out approximately here is a mixture.

Next, you need to pour the resulting sand into a plastic container with a flat bottom, so that it is easier to mix and remove the finished glue from there.

Thoroughly wash the sole with soap and dry, then fix in a horizontal position.

After drying, take the solvent and degrease the surface of the sole; you can also use gasoline or white spirit. Dishwashing liquid is absolutely not suitable for these purposes!

Prepare tools for kneading and applying epoxy.

It is important that the sole surface is horizontal, otherwise it may leak to the side.

Dilute the resin with the abrasive to the density of sour cream, weighing the amount of resin on the kitchen scale. Only then add the hardener, also strictly controlling the weight. Follow the instructions in the instructions.
By the way, you can add small shavings from stainless steel, it will be even better.

Then apply to the sole either simply in the form of drops, or you can make a drawing.Even if the height of the drops or strips is different, it's okay, everything will be aligned during operation.

After that, leave the shoes in this position for a day to polymerize the resin.
Now you can safely walk, and not be afraid of ice! Moreover, in rooms, unlike studded ice drifts, shoes will not clatter and spoil the cover. It will also not press in the foot, as is the case with spikes or plates. By the way, in this article The technology of manufacturing icebreakers from screws is considered.
Thanks to the author for an interesting manufacturing technique!

Good luck to everyone, and good grip!
