On the first of June 2014, I decided to start the “Memory” project. This project provided for the creation of a series of aircraft models dedicated to his brother, who was a first-class fighter pilot and his friends fellow soldiers and generally all pilots who died and are now alive.
This model under the name "Cobra" was the first model in this series.
Before the construction of the model, everything was reviewed with notes by Sergey Alexandrov.
In my opinion, the model was supposed to be a pusher with profile wings and a voluminous fuselage.
Estimated sizes.
Length - 1470 mm.
Span - 1120 mm.
Weight, within - 1000 g.
I redid a lot of drawings of variants of the silhouette of the model, and only having found the drawing of a vimaana from the Indian treatise on flights of Vimanika Shastra under the beautiful name Loren, I made my choice.
Materials
Heater - "Penopleks".
Ceiling tile.
Universal glue "Titan".
Colored adhesive tape.
For starters, glued blanks of insulation, a thickness of 50 mm. in a package of three layers.
He made templates and cut foam blanks from them. Processed to the desired size, cut and chose the inside of the insulation, leaving thin walls.
He made a selection of insulation with a soldering iron, with a specially sharpened sting.
From a wooden block I made a blank on which a lantern for a cabin was bent. The material was a plastic water bottle.
Heating was carried out by a technical hairdryer.
Having such initial dimensions of 1470 x 1120 x 150 mm., The model began to make.
Like this electronics I will put it.
Motor - 3010 1300 (420W) with a thrust of 1650 g.
Three-blade screw - 8x6.
I do not rule out the installation of impellers. Therefore, I try to make the model as light as possible.
Impellers - ADH 300L 5800 rpm
Total thrust = 959.92 g.
Regulators - 60A.
Servos - NHT900 - 4 pcs.
I want to put a chassis with retracts and a front swivel rack. But this is extra weight.
The idea is this, but in fact there is no good runway and, most likely, the model will be launched manually.
Patterns appeared.
Outlines of the future model appear.
Redid the lantern of the cabin, set transparent.
First I decided to make a model on impellers.
Impellers fit well into the model's case.
I start locally covering the model with colored tape.
An all-round OBT has not yet been established.
All installation of the model body is completed. Checked the location of the DH.
Now I mount the impellers in their place.
After several consultations with Sergey, small changes were made to the design of the model. The shape of the keels has changed, the steering surfaces of the all-perspective OBT have been increased
Chassis installed only for photographing.
So a new model of Su - 06 “Cobra” appeared in my squadron. Which was later modified into the Su - 07 "Cobra - 2" model.
This is the first stage of the project “Memory” is completed.
