I think that I will return to the topic of Sergey Alexandrov more than once. Project S-59 "Killer Whale"
What I’ll talk about now is another game with Killer Whale. Only this time model will be created for take-off from any surface.
Naturally, the basis for the creation of my model, under the code name "Dolphin", was Sergey's drawings.
Estimated model data.
Length - 1310 mm.
Span - 960 mm. .
Weight - 900 g.
Started with drawings, scale and basic dimensions.
I will not describe in detail the process of building the model. I focus your attention on the main, more significant points in the work.
I want to say right away that the design of the model is significantly different from the design proposed by Sergey.
First of all, by the fact that on my model there will be one keel and the engine will be mounted on it.
I had to smash my head over the design of the lower part, the "bottom" of the fuselage., Which should fulfill the functions of the hull or glider. I remembered the design of the bottom of the aircraft model "Ikon A5" and Canada.
I looked through the work of RL Bartini, especially the F-57 project “cocked hat”.
By gluing the ceilings of one onto the other, I was able to solve the problem of creating a model of the redan on the bottom of the fuselage, to enter the planing mode.
The initial design of the model with two keels changed, and the similarities with the prototype disappeared.
I took the keel shape from the MiG-19.
.
Glued bulkheads into the fuselage, began to sheathe the ceiling.
Cut out the figures of the pilots. I made a lantern for the cabin from a plastic bottle.
This will house the battery.
Mounted the motor. He began to cover the model with colored tape.
I tried the model on the water.
Moved the side floats to the ends of the wing.
Model on pre-launch verification.
Here's a farewell selfie with the model.
The games with Killer Whale did not end there. And not surprisingly, because, as I believe, this is the most flying model I have built.
Again the same drawings.
And these are my ideas.
Span - 1310mm.
Length - 960 mm.
Weight - 780 g.
Motor -2836 1200KV
Screw -APC - 9X6
Battery - - 3S 2200 20C
Materials - 5mm laminate backing,
Ceiling -4mm
Color tape,
Wooden lath 8х3х50
On this model, an all-perspective OBT will be delivered again.
As in the previous time, I will focus on the main points of work.
The most complex element of the OVT design is the connection of two halves of the ailerons with an axis.
Here according to this drawing I build a model.
Immediately cut out the part, fit it in place and immediately paste it.
The keels and protrusions underneath are made.
Everything is trying on.
A piece of insulation is glued under the engine mount and a piece of hardboard is glued to it.
All parts of the OVT unit had to be adjusted to the dimensions of the ceiling tile.
It turned out a very interesting form of the cabin.
This is how the nose cone looks.
The pilots froze in anticipation.
The model is cleaned and covered with colored tape.
Engine compartment
And this is the fruit of my labor.
Killer Whale games are in full swing.
Friends, build a killer whale model. you will not regret!
