Reysmus is a tool for drawing on the workpiece marking lines parallel to the selected baseline, or transferring dimensions from the drawings to the workpiece. Thicknesses come with two or more scratch needles. Recently there have appeared surface gauges with a wheel. But the author decided to install a stylus instead of needles or a wheel.

Step One: Barbell
Thicknesser rod is made of metal rod from the printer. From the bar you need to remove all the rubber bands and gears.
Make a cut from one end. The lead should be inserted with effort into the slot.
Step Two: Block
The block is made of wooden block. Marks and drills a hole in the center of the end.
Cut the bar into two halves.
Step Three: Magnets
In order for the bar to be fixed and move tight, the master decided to put two neodymium magnets. Drills two blind holes for magnets.
Glues magnets into holes.
Now you need to glue the two halves of the pads. So that the block does not clamp the bar, it is necessary to glue a spacer made of wood on one side. Apply glue to the edge. Sprinkles glue with salt (according to the author, this does not allow the two glued parts to move). He puts a spacer. It connects the halves and fixes with clamps. When gluing, it is necessary to pay attention so that the glue does not get into the pads and the rod.
After gluing the pads cuts off the upper part, forming a straight plane.
Step Four: Ruler
The block on one side has a slot. Inserts the rod into the hole in the block and, through the slot, draws a cut line.
Cuts the bar on the mark.
Knead glue and put into the slot. The edge of the line makes with notches, for better bonding. The author fixes the ruler with hot glue until the epoxy glue sets. It is important to combine 0 rulers with the beginning of the slot of the rod.
Step Five: Pads Processing
For the convenience of gripping the gage pads with your hand, the master cuts the sides.
And polishes.
Reysmus is ready. It remains to install the stylus and check it in operation.
