Hello fishermen and visitors to the site "", probably each of you had to deal with such a problem when you need a small float, but there are none in the store or you need to go fishing urgently. Today I would like to show how to make a small over-sensitive float. Features of this float: Ease of manufacture (even a child will make it), Speed of manufacture (can be done on fishing or at home), Simplicity of design, and of course - you will not spend money.
Tools and materials
- Emery paper of different grit
- Thin board
- Sewing pin
- Any glue
- Nail polish
- Varnish
Well, let's start, take a board about 7-8 mm thick, it is best to take soft and light trees such as: linden, alder, balsa and others.
On the board, draw with a pen and a ruler, a rail with a width of 7 mm from one edge, 5 mm from the other and 120 mm long
We cut the workpiece with a metal saw or a jigsaw. Sawing carefully so as not to split the workpiece, as it is very fragile.
After we have cut the workpiece, we take a sharp knife and begin to give it the shape of a cone, round the corners. We round it carefully so as not to remove more wood than necessary. Otherwise, you have to start all over again.
After we have made the rounded shape, we take sandpaper with a grain size of about 80 - 100 grid and begin to grind all the irregularities, giving the workpiece a finished look.
After processing with large sandpaper, we proceed to process with smaller ones to remove all scratches that remained after processing with larger sandpaper.

We make a hole in the thickened part of the float with a needle or an awl and glue the pin on super glue or other available glue.
Next, take a manicure nail polish and paint the upper part of the future float.
After painting, let the paint dry and cover the workpiece with several layers of varnish.
