The process of making a table:
Step one. Worktop blanks
First of all, we need to make blanks for the manufacture of countertops. In this case, boards made of beautiful wood species will help us. We cut the boards into blanks, we have to glue them into wood boards. Of course, the boards should be of the same thickness, for this the author drove them out on a surface gage.
For strong bonding, we use carpentry glue in combination with furniture dowels. We tighten all the clamps well and leave the glue to dry.
Step Two Start cutting
The plates are ready, now we cut out the blanks from them. The uppermost countertop we have is round in shape, to cut it out, the author used a milling cutter and worked like a compass.
As for the other two pieces of intricate shape, they can be cut on a tape cutting machine. The parts should be the same, so we process them on a milling machine, grind them well, and so on.
Step Three Making legs
Next, we proceed to the manufacture of legs, here we need a block of beautiful wood. If our countertop is light, then the legs can be made of darker wood.To make the legs turn out as planned, the author first makes a template of wood. Well, then we’ll cut four legs according to the template, in them you need to accurately and correctly cut the grooves for installing countertops. It is better to make the grooves a little smaller than required, and then modify the chisel. At the end, the legs are carefully sanded by hand until a perfectly smooth condition is obtained.
Step Four Impregnation
When the legs and countertops are sanded, cover them with oil or wax. Now the wood looks gorgeous and is well protected from moisture. Before impregnation, be sure to glue the points of attachment of the legs of the masking tape or tape, otherwise the glue will not stick to oiled wood.
Step Five Table assembly
The table can be assembled, we need to glue it. For assembly, you need clamps and elastic bands. We tighten everything well, see if everything is even and leave the glue to dry.
