Hello, friends the inhabitants of our siteToday I would like to show how to make a nut cracker from a tree. Nutcracker is designed for both large nuts and smaller ones. The stroke of the handle is limited, and therefore the shell of nuts bursts, and the nucleolus itself remains intact. A nutcracker makes peeling nuts easier. The nutcracker is made of hardwood and will work a large amount of time. Making a nut cracker is an interesting and creative process. Manufactured walnut do it yourselfwill be a good gift.
The performance of this nut cracker is much higher than that of screw nut crackers.
List of tools and materials:
- walnut wood
- Beech wood
- M6 bolt with nut
- Beeswax for impregnation
- aluminum tube
- Electric Planer
- Drill or drilling machine
- Emery paper of different grit
- A circular saw
- Electric fret saw
- Drill
- Good wood glue
- clamp
- File
- Saw for metal
Proceed, take a walnut board 25 mm thick and mark on it a blank of 46 mm by 220 mm
We cut the workpiece using a circular saw and planing it on all sides with an electric planer
The resulting workpiece will need to be cut with a jigsaw two rectangles measuring 15 mm by 40 mm
Next, I found an old beech floor in the “right garbage”, it has a thickness of 15 mm
We cut out such a template from paper 40 mm wide and 55 mm high
We circle our template on the floor, we will need two such blanks
Cut the workpieces with a jigsaw and grind them well with sandpaper
Next, we take and glue all the blanks with carpentry glue and wait for it to dry
In the meantime, the glue dries, we will take up the manufacture of the handle. On exactly the same parquet we draw by eye, a handle about 220 mm long
Cut the workpiece handle using a jigsaw
We grind the handle well with sandpaper, and also drill a hole with a diameter of 8 mm in the workpiece
In the handle we make a recess for smaller nuts such as: hazelnuts, almonds and other similar
From an aluminum tube with an outer diameter of 8 mm and an inner 6 mm, cut a sleeve 15 mm long
Insert the sleeve into the hole in the handle
After the glue on the large workpiece has dried, remove the clamp and see that the protruding parts remain
Grind the workpiece with a file and sandpaper
After we polished the workpiece, we drill two 6 mm holes
With the help of a drill and sandpaper, we make such a chop with a diameter of 6 mm
Coat chopik with carpentry glue, and paste it into the bottom hole in the workpiece
After the glue has dried, cut off the chopik with a saw for metal and grind it with sandpaper
We give the workpiece with a jigsaw a shape convenient for holding in your hand
We do not fully drill a hole of 6 mm to 12 mm
Take a 35 mm M6 bolt and nut to it
Twist the two parts with a bolt and check the stroke length of the handle
To remove the hole in the workpiece, using a drill and sandpaper, grind a chop with a diameter of 12 mm and cut it into two parts
Glue chopik on carpentry glue into the hole
After the glue has dried, cut the chopik with a metal saw and grind it with sandpaper
We impregnate the nut cracker with natural beeswax, it will give the workpiece a finished look and protect it from moisture
The nutcracker is ready! Check it in action
Now we have a handmade wood cracker !!!
