I welcome all fans to craft, today we will consider how to make a powerful brushcutter from an electric trimmer and chainsaw. The author had an electric trimmer that he didn’t want to mow, the engine power was not enough in the thick grass. It was decided to do homemade based on petrol scythes. Of course, the meaning in such a rework is only if you have a workshop with the necessary equipment, as well as more necessary details. The process of making a brushcutter:
Step one. Making barbers
First of all, we will make a bar in which the brushcutter shaft will rotate. In cheap gas mowers, special bushings are installed in the rod that hold the shaft. Of course, these bushings wear out quite quickly, and the shaft begins to throw inside the rod. The author decided to make the rod himself, for this we need a pipe of a suitable diameter, we need to press bearings into it.
As a result, we install a gearbox for the brushcutter at the end of the pipe and at this step the work is completed.

Step Two Clutch
Next, we need to dock the working shaft of the spit with the shaft of the chainsaw. First of all, we need to cut the clutch cup of the brushcutter, as a result, one plate should remain. To give the plate a perfectly round shape, the author uses a drilling machine.
At the next stage, you need to make an adapter that will allow you to cling to the chainsaw sprocket.The author makes this adapter himself from a thick iron plate. We transfer the asterisk contour to the workpiece by paint and get to work. We drill the core and other areas on the drilling machine. Well, then we arm ourselves with a file and modify the part. At the end, we will have to cut the part to a round shape and weld to the plate that remains from the clutch cup.
Step Three Fasteners
The rod must be securely attached to the brushcutter, for this we make fasteners. First you need to make a clamp from a piece of pipe, which we will fix on the bar. Already to this clamp we weld fasteners made of an iron plate. The bar is fastened with the help of two nuts, which are screwed onto the chainsaw tire.
Step Four Shield
The homemade product turned out to be quite powerful, we install a rather large knife with three blades on it. Of course, it is imperative that the brushcutter needs to be made a protective shield so that stones, branches and other products of the machine’s work do not fly at your feet. The author welds the shield from sheet steel, we make fasteners in the form of a clamp and fasten the shield to the bar.
Step Five Handle and assembly
We make a strong handle for the brushcutter; the author made it himself out of the pipe. We fasten the handle to the bar with the help of fasteners from the brushcutter. We put the trigger on the handle to control the engine from the brushcutter. And to connect the cable to the choke of the chainsaw, the author uses special home-made fasteners.
In the end, we only need to install the fasteners on the bar, with which we will hang the braid.
