Step One: Hole
Using a special tool, he finds the center of the workpiece.

Now you need to install a brass tube inside the workpiece. To fix the tube, the master uses glue. After the glue dries, it cuts off the protruding part of the tube.

When grinding, the master used sandpaper 120, 240, 320 and 400 green.

For the decoration of pens, the master uses various materials, wax, linseed oil, super-glue.
Step Six: Build
Handles are turned, polished and coated with a decorative composition. Further, the master installs bushings from a special set for do-it-yourself pens in the handle housings.

In this case, the master did not throw away the workpiece, but grind off the broken edge, polished it and applied wax to the workpiece. Then he ground another workpiece and assembled a handle from two halves.
