Data fixtures are screws with slotted helical chip grooves that form cutting edges, and allow you to easily make holes and immediately cut internal metric threads into them using a conventional screwdriver, drill or even a screwdriver in materials such as wood or plastic, as well as some soft metals (e.g. aluminum). In addition, similar taps can be used to repair previously damaged threads.
An important feature of such a tool is that during operation, you don’t have to think about the need to observe the ratio of the diameter of the drill to the diameter of the tap.
The taps are made of high-quality high-speed tool steel (High Speed Steel), the type of shank is 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) hex.
The product package is as follows:
• 1 PC. M3 pitch 0.5 (length: 55 mm; drill diameter: 2.5 mm);
• 1 PC. M4 pitch 0.7 (length: 54 mm; drill diameter: 3.3 mm);
• 1 PC. M5 pitch 0.8 (length: 58 mm; drill diameter: 4.2 mm);
• 1 PC. M6 pitch 1.0 (length: 58 mm; drill diameter: 5.0 mm);
• 1 PC. M8 pitch 1.25 (length: 59 mm; drill diameter: 6.8 mm);
• 1 PC. M10 pitch 1.5 (length: 59 mm; drill diameter: 8.5 mm).
We also point out that on the shank of each tap there is a designation of its parameters - the diameter of the thread being cut and its pitch.
When working, the drill is recommended to be lubricated in order to extend its service life. In addition, it should be noted that the thickness of the material should not exceed the length of the cutting part of the drill, otherwise the thread may turn out uneven due to the increased load.
