A suvel bracelet looks elegant, this material resembles something similar to a bone or some kind of stone, the suvel is quite strong and many believe in its healing powers. The process of making a bracelet:
Step one. We go for the material
The first step is going to the forest with a chainsaw, we need a birch forest, and we need to look for growths on birches. These largest growths are suvel. Formations can be cut with a drill, but not too close to the tree trunk so as not to damage it. The cut place on the tree is treated with garden varieties or other similar preparation so that the tree does not die. Of course, it is better to prepare more material immediately, it is used in many homemadeincluding knife handles and so on.
Step Two Cook
Further, suvel can be boiled in salt water or just in fresh water. Thanks to wood cooking, resins, juices and, so to speak, “forest moisture” are boiled. Thanks to this procedure, the tree then dries quickly and does not crack. With salt, the process is more efficient, but we will normalize the wood, so salt is better not to use. Such a large piece of wood will have to be boiled for a rather long time, so it is better to cut the material into blanks in advance.
The author cleaned the boiled suvel from bark and dirt, as a result, it was cut into blanks. You can handle it with a hacksaw, but a tape cutting machine will do.
Step Three Turning parts
In the next step, you can cut and grind parts for the bracelet. It’s best to pre-make a template for this. It is convenient to grind workpieces on the belt grinder. Do not forget to drill holes in which the gum will be inserted.
Step Four Normalization
We normalize the finished parts of the bracelet; normalization implies impregnation of wood. As an impregnation, you can use epoxy resin, varnishes, wood oils and so on. After impregnation, the tree will be very reliably protected from moisture and pests, and it will also look very beautiful.
The workpieces are immersed in a container with impregnation and then air is sucked out of the container to lower the pressure, and wood is impregnated. As the pressure drops, air bubbles will come out of the tree.
Step Four Beads
Between the main details of the bracelet, according to the author’s idea, beads are provided, they are made of darker wood. For the manufacture of beads, the author used a pen drill, sharpened in a special way, as well as a drilling machine. Just drill the workpieces, and then string them on an iron rod and grind them all together on a belt grinder. The resulting beads can be coated with oil or varnish.
Step Five Assembly
The bracelet can be assembled, for the assembly you will need two elastic bands. A little more effort and the bracelet is ready.
