I welcome all fans to craft, today we will consider how to make an interesting lamp made of epoxy resin. Homemade It is a hollow cylinder with holes through which light comes out. The author added a pearl color dye to the epoxy resin. The homemade product looks quite interesting, a cozy atmosphere is created at home, and everything is going to be quite simple. The manufacturing process of the lamp:
Step one. Foundation preparation
At the heart of the lamp are aluminum rings, with them the homemade product looks more original. We will need to pick up a piece of aluminum pipe that is suitable in diameter. We cut it into parts using a hacksaw for metal, gradually turning the pipe.
Step Two Formwork assembly
Next, we proceed to the manufacture of formwork, for a start we will manufacture the outer part. For these purposes, we need a piece of sewer pipe, cut the pipe lengthwise into two equal halves.
In the lower part between the two halves of the pipe, we install aluminum rings cut off earlier. In the upper part, as a spacer, you also need to insert a piece of pipe. Joints are well sealed with adhesive tape and wrap them all the formwork.
We also need to make the inner part of the formwork, which will allow us to get a cavity inside the cylinder. We select or make a cylinder ourselves from paper or film, wrap it with tape, tape does not stick to the epoxy. We install the inside and glue it securely with a glue gun. Using hot glue, carefully glue all the cracks, otherwise the resin will immediately leak and it will be insulting.
Step Three Resin filling
Stir resin with hardener by weight and add dye to your liking. As planned by the author, the dye was used in pearl color. Carefully pour the resin into the formwork, and so that the inner part does not move, the author fixed it with a stick, a nail and a glue gun.
Step Four Further processing
The formwork can be removed after 24 hours, more accurate figures depend specifically on the brand of resin. Do not forget to extract the inside, and trim the sins of casting with a file.
At the end, the author polishes the lamp housing on a lathe.
Step Five Holes
Holes need to be drilled in the lamp housing, for this we wrap the housing with masking tape and mark out where the holes should be. Then a drilling machine comes to the rescue.
At the end, lightly process the holes in a circle with sandpaper to smooth sharp edges, you can also use a round file.
Step Six Base
The lamp is almost ready, we will make a base for it, on which the lamp holder will be located. The base can be cut out of plywood, board or MDF, we fasten the cartridge under the center of the base under the LED bulb and securely fix the cable so that it does not break out. The light bulb needs to be used only LED, the incandescent lamp will heat everything, and it is fire hazard.
That's all, the lamp is almost ready, if desired, install a switch on the cable. The author also covers the epoxy with a protective varnish so that it does not collapse under the harmful influence of ultraviolet radiation. After applying varnish, the lamp will look even better.
