In essence, this is an ordinary angular gearbox with helical gears and a gear ratio of 1: 1. If desired, the adapter can be disassembled for revision or maintenance. The adapter is fixed to the engraver with a nut. The twelve-sided base of the adapter enters the same hole in the head, due to which the working part can be rotated along the axis in 12 different directions in increments of 30 °.
According to the seller, this adapter is suitable for both engravers from Dremel (models 4000, 400, 3000, 300, 398, 395, 285, 200, 275, 100, 8220, 8200, 8100, 800), and for their Chinese counterparts (Hilda 180-A and 180-B engravers are indicated, but judging by the reviews, this list is much larger).
Sometimes a situation occurs when the drive cable is rotated in a collet clamp, this problem can be solved in several ways: fixing it in a three-jaw chuck and, more radically, solder the end of the flexible shaft with aluminum solder, sharpen it under the square and insert it into the shaft by gluing it with super glue, leaving the factory end for clamping in the chuck of the engraver.
