Manufacturing process homemade:
Step one. Watch assembly
The author ordered a kit from China for the assembly of watches. You will need a file and nippers, well, then we collect everything according to the scheme. If desired, the watch can have a thermometer for measuring air temperature, an alarm clock and so on. As a result, the watch turned out to be quite bright with large numbers, just what you need to assemble a homemade product. It is possible to feed the clock with a voltage of 5V, Power-Bank is suitable for such purposes, the clock will work for such a long time.
Step Two Body manufacture
We’ll make a watch case in the form of a cube, here we need plywood, this material is durable, glues well and looks beautiful, but you can also use disks. The author cuts plywood on a circular machine, and also forms the necessary angles for gluing using a milling machine.
Well, then the box needs to be glued with carpentry glue, temporarily fix the walls with masking tape or tape. It is necessary to glue all the walls except the back, it will be removed.
Step Three Clock and back
We plan a place and cut a window for setting the clock, in this case, the author was helped by a manual milling cutter. We paste the clock into the case, and for reliable fixation, the author screwed wooden planks on the sides of the clock.
It remains to make a locking mechanism for the back wall. In this case, small neodymium magnets will help us. We glue the magnets one opposite the other into the lid and into the body, of course, the polarity must be such that the magnets are attracted to each other. Now the cover is securely fixed and can be removed very easily.
Step Four Finishing and assembly
Everything is ready for decoration, and for decoration we will need a thin veneer, the thickness of the material should be no more than 0.6 mm, a thicker veneer will not be visible. We glue the sheet material to the body with good glue, carefully process the joints so that the product looks monolithic.
When the glue dries, eliminate the defects and saturate the wood with oil or varnish. Now the homemade product looks great, and in the case of using varnish, the coating will wash perfectly.
It remains to establish a power source, in our case it is Power Bank for charging mobile phones. Clock adjustment is carried out from the inside. That's all, the homemade product is ready, the watch is perfectly visible even in the daytime, and at night the watch generally looks pretty bright.
