Surely some of you have a small personal workshop in which there are several woodworking machines. And they, as you know, give a lot of shavings and sawdust. For this, the masters install pneumatic chip removal systems.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel Alexey Chezganov will tell you how he made a simple valve for such a system. Using this valve, you can shut off the system on one of the machines.
Homemade is very simple to manufacture, and materials for it are very accessible to everyone.
Materials
- sheet plywood
- Wooden beam
- PVA glue
- Foam strips
- Wood screws
- Flanges for hoods
- Sandpaper.

Manufacturing process.
So, the first thing the master cuts from plywood blanks for the body and valve - two squares 200X200 mm and one rectangular 400X200 mm.
Then he dissolves the board on the bars 30X20 mm.
Now trims the bars to a width of 200 mm.
On the blank for the valve marks the dimensions of the bars, and removes excess material.
Sharp edges are processed with sandpaper.
Glues the bars to one of the covers, and fixes the parts with a neiler.
Installs the valve in place, and screws the second cover with screws.
Marks the center on the cover, and drills a through hole through both covers and the gate valve.
Disassembles the body, and makes holes for the flanges with crowns.
Now it will take two of these flanges, and strips of foam.
Wraps the base of the flange with foam rubber, and sets it in place. It should spring slightly.
It also repeats with the second cover. Next, collects the case back.
So, the valve is almost ready, everything is tightly connected.
It remains to drill a pair of finger holes with Forstner drills.
Now you can connect device to the system, and check. Everything is very tight, this can be seen by the drive bag.
Of course, the dimensions of such a valve can be changed to fit your needs, and the diameter of the pipes used.
Thanks to the author for the idea of a simple but useful tool for the workshop!
All good mood, good luck, and interesting ideas!
