Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. We cast the workpiece
The first step is to cast an epoxy preform to make a flame. We need a cork made of wood or another similar object, wrap it with thin sheet acrylic or film and securely fix the whole thing with tape. It is important that the formwork has no gaps anywhere through which the epoxy can flow.
Next, mix the epoxy and add the dyes. The dye from the printer is perfect as an ink. Mix the layers of resin to get the desired pattern. Well, then, when the resin hardens, remove the formwork and cut off the excess.
Step Two Refinement of the flame
We prepare the prepared workpiece on a lathe to remove the bulk of the material. Further, the author grinds the approximate shape of the flame using a disk grinder.Finishing touches in the profile are entered with the help of a drill. In the end, after carefully grinding with sandpaper, you need to return the resin to its former transparency, for these purposes we drill a blind hole in the lower part and insert a stick wrapped in tape with it.
Now carefully apply a layer of epoxy resin or varnish on top of the part with a brush. As a result, we will return the former transparency to the resin. When everything is dry, the wand can be easily pulled out, since it was wrapped with tape.
Step Three Base
Let's make the base for the candle, use a piece of wooden beam or round timber. When making, you can decorate the base with paraffin or wax, so that everything looks like a natural candle. The author has ground the base on a lathe, we also need to drill a hole for the LED and arrange a seat for the battery compartment.
At the end, cover the base with oil, polish with wax and so on.
Step Four Completion
In the end, you need to assemble everything, install the LED, bend the contacts and bite off the extra ends. Further, the author directly soldered the LED to the battery compartment, but it is better to install a resistor for longer LED life. Glue the battery pack on hot glue.
In the end, it remains to glue directly our epoxy fire and you can turn on homemade. Install a flat battery and the candle is ready. The homemade product looks great, when using a large number of such candles, the effect should be wonderful.
