Hello to all fans, today we will consider how to make an unusual electric scooter. Interestingly, the design is folding, when folded, the scooter looks just like a box. As a basis, the author used a motor from a 36V gyroscope. The wheels as well as the battery are inside the case. If you are interested in the project, I propose to study it in more detail!
Materials and tools used by the author:
Material List:
- profile pipes;
- sheet metal (or other material for lining);
- rechargeable battery with an operating voltage of 36V;
- motor wheel from a gyroscope on 36V;
-;
- steel plates;
- details from a children's bicycle;
- electronic throttle handle;
- paint.
Tool List:
- grinder;
- welding machine;
- wrenches, screwdrivers;
- roulette;
- door hinges.
Manufacturing process homemade:
Step one. Engine preparation and installation
The author got the motor-wheel out of a gyro scooter. You can use a broken gyro scooter, the motors in them most often remain operational, but they need a controller.
The author has already welded the frame for the machine in advance, here thin profile pipes and steel plates were used. The motor wheel must be pivotally fastened; according to the author’s idea, it should be hidden in the car body. The author adapted a connecting rod from a children's bicycle as a hinge. We also make holders for the connecting rod axis from pieces of profile pipes. When unfolded, the connecting rod abuts against the frame.
Step Two Steering wheel
The author took the steering from a children's scooter, and can also be adapted from a children's bicycle. We fasten the plug to the steering shaft through a hinge, as it is possible to adapt a carriage from a bicycle or a similar assembly. The author himself also made the steering wheel itself folding so that the design was compact.
Step Three Assembly
We assemble the homemade product, install the battery inside, which can be assembled from new or even old 18650 cells. We will definitely use BMS for the battery, so it will last much longer.
We also have a revolutions controller inside the case, and put the electronic throttle handle on the steering wheel.
As cladding, thin galvanized steel or even plywood can be used. That's all, the car is ready, the author’s homemade weight can withstand, and the engine power is enough. As for the battery, such a large case is able to accommodate a fairly large battery. This is the end of the project, good luck and creative inspiration, if you decide to repeat this, do not forget to share your ideas and homemade things with us!
