Of course, those people who already have Halloween every day do not appreciate this holiday, but when everything is in order in your life, sometimes you want something “terrible” so that you can again feel the taste of a prosperous life, which you are used to. And in general, this holiday is appreciated by all lovers of all mystical things. Today we will look at how to make an interesting cork for a bottle with a drink in a holiday style. The cork is made of epoxy resin, inside it is a skull that glows in the dark. Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. Cast the foundation
First of all, we will make the basis for homemade work, we need a piece of wooden round timber, we make formwork around it, a piece from a PET bottle is well suited as a material. We glue the formwork with tape, and we seal the joint between the tree with hot glue. We pour epoxy into the formwork, the author added a black dye to it.
Step Two Making a Luminous Skull
The author printed the skull figure on a 3D printer, if you don’t have such a machine, you can do it the old fashioned way, from plasticine or wax. Next, this figure must be filled in silicone, as a result, after removing the skull, we get a formwork for pouring luminous resin.
We make the formwork for silicone, it can be assembled from thick paper.The skull itself is glued to the adhesive tape so that the skull does not completely pour into the silicone. That's all, fill the whole thing in silicone and wait until everything hardens.
When the silicone hardens, carefully remove the skull from the mold and now breed epoxy resin with glowing powder. Pour the resin into the mold and wait for the resin to solidify completely. That's all, when the resin hardens, we get a great glowing skull. We set the skull on a previously made base and fill everything with a transparent epoxy resin on top.
Step Three Turning
We clamp the workpiece into a lathe and give it the desired shape. Having cut off the excess, the author drilled a hole in the product, cut the thread and twisted a piece of the threaded rod. As a result, we install this part on the cork.
Well, then the product is carefully sanded with rough sandpaper. The author gradually reduced the grain size of the paper up to 2000. At the end, we process the resin with abrasive paste and polish, as a result, the resin will again become crystal clear.
The homemade product is ready, we fasten the whole thing to a vacuum plug. If there is no such cork, you can use the classic cork tree. The homemade product looks great, it will be a great souvenir for the holiday, it will not go unnoticed.
